just get your marriage license in nyc. then you don't need it. doesn't matter where you're getting married, i don't think.

You can get it in NYC .. its very easy there and you only need a drivers license .. As long as you are getting married in New York State you will be fine!

I am really suprised that its not consistent across NYS.

Maybe just find it and bring with you just in case. You never know. Its so much better to have it with you and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

we went in NYC on worth street and only needed one form of ID, and we used our passports.

Mine was a copy. From the town though so it had the seal pressed into it. I don't know where my real original one is. I think my parents lost it during the divorce I have never seen it.

ETA: FH doesn't know where his is either. He was able to use a baptismal certificate. As long as it had his birthday, parents names, town/city of birth on it, and again the raised seal. I had it mailed from his church in NJ where he was baptized and we had no problems in Suffolk
