I want to see how 'on track' I am. I have the church, recep hall, my dress, have looked at invits, and have ideas on favors. Is there anything I should be doing RIGHT NOW that Im not?? (the food and cake are supplied by my recep hall)
I also have the Photog, Videog & Band
Edited to say All the BM dresses are in, and save the date cards are out
We finished our Precana weekend
Ed: We booked our florist!!! After looking at 3 different ones, we found one that was in the middle price-wise, we loved their designs and they made a GREAT impression on us!! (When they had coffee ready for our sat AM meeting- I was sold)

There doesn't seem to be anything that you need immediately. You are well on your way. Just start thinking about this:
Are you using limos? BP gifts? makeup & Hair jewelry for yourself shoes your 'Something new, something old...'
There is plenty more, I just have to think about it...

Hey kbeana24, I am getting married on 5/21/05 too! I hope I hope I hope we have nice weather.
You seem to have everything under control! I have the church, reception place, band, save the dates, and dress done. I also have an idea about favors and am doing research on invitations. Still need the photographer, flowers and am searching for a steel drum cocktail hour musician. I live in DC, so I am planning the wedding from out of town but getting some help from my parents and MOH.
We have our engagement party on July 10 in Huntington!! My parents are having a festive party in their backyard. Can't wait.

I'd say you're doing very well. I'm pretty much the same as you. I have the ceremony/reception location booked, my dress, the photographer/videographer, the food and cake are supplied by the hall. I know what invitations and favors I want, I just have to order them. I need to make an appointment with the DJ I like and I have an appointment to speak with a florist tomorrow.

At this point I have: reception, dress, flowers, band, photo/video, makeup/hair, Rabbi, Limo
I would recommend you start looking at hair and makeup, they get booked up almost a year in advance!
Next I will look at : BM and FG dresses

Still need hair, but I'm not super worried, taking care of that next month, there's bound to be SOMEONE in the NYC area who can do it. I'm hoping so at least.
We also need: Invitations Programs Placecards (making them) Make Aisle Runner (Painting on monogram) Cake topper (chosen-not yet bought) Rehearsal Dinner reservations Buy the veil, shoes, bra (chosen-not yet bought) Get-away car Tuxes (some-some are military) Save-the Dates (just need to mail-waiting on some addresses)
Done: Officiant Pre-marriage counseling (in progress) Dress Favors Chapel Reception Cake Band Photographer BMs Dresses Hotel Blocks Airline Blocks make-up register Florist
and I'm sure i'm forgetting a lot that needs to be done....but that's some.

HI THERE lilac!
actually you have A LOT done JUST by having a rec place and the church. so many struggle with that. starting taking little bites at the problem. I would go and get a dress now, in case it takes some time to get here and pick BMs dresses. Also think about the vendors, prioritize what in the wedding is important budget wise, and have fun looking for ideas!

no stress -- you're doing great!
The vendor decisions are overwhelming. I thought I'd knock all of them out in October. That was wishful thinking.
I did book photo, video, blocked hotels, and bought my dress, though. DJ, limo, day-of coord. and BM dresses are next. Flowers will lag until BM dresses are chosen. Oh yeah, with any luck I'll get my STDs out before Thanksgiving!
I'm soooo impressed that you have invitations already!
How are the other May brides doing???

Congrats on your engagement and welcome to the boards!! I am planning my wedding from D.C. and I am thankful every day for having this website. I have found so many helpful suggestions and vendor recommendations on here that it has saved me a ton of legwork.

I am doing pretty well regarding my planning. I have been engaged since January, so during that time I have been able to get all of my vendors booked except limos and I still need to meet with the bakery that Danfords uses for the cake.
We still have to get tuxes, invites, make ceremony programs, buy bridal party and parent gifts, and I have to find my veil, shoes and hairpins. I am probably leaving some things off the list...

well the actual invites aren't in my hand.. but FH sister is a graphic artist and is going to design them for us and a friend of his is a printer so we're all set on them. i'm just glad its one less thing i have to worry about and if they turn out even half as nice as the engagement invites i'll be perfectly happy
