my dr told me that at her one year old check up- JANUARY!! -that she will start regular milk.
She kinda gets the idea of a sippy cup although she tries to bite it to suck. Much better at drinking from a regular cup!
just thinking of when I dont have to make those bottles anymore!

Re: ? for moms of 1 yr olds or older
Geno is 16 months and still gets one bottle (of whole milk) a day either in the morning or at night. It depends on his mood, it settles him down. But we are hoping to have him off it totally by x-mas.

I stopped giving it to Patrick @ like 14-15 months. I wanted him to get used to drinking milk before I sprung the no bottle on him.

I gradually switched Aidan from soy formula to whole milk -- by the time he was 14 months old he was on all milk -- and I just stopped giving him a bottle and gave him cups and now he is on all cups -- It was easier than I thought !

We broke the bottle habit gradually, too. I started giving Paul sippy cups at 12 mos. He took to them pretty easily, so the transition was no big deal. We slowly phased out the bottles, and he has been using just cups for about 2 mos. now (he's 18 mos.)
We recently went to Paul's first dentist appt., and the dentist told me that the faster you can get them off the bottle, the better!
