For MOMS- What changed most??

Hi ladies!

I'm still trying to make up my mind about TTC, and thought I should ask some questions to help me figure it all out.

From your own personal experience, what changed most between you and your DH after baby arrived??

Thanks!

Edited to take out some of the 'harder' questions..

Wow, no responses...

Maybe the question was too personal....

The biggest change I experienced with my first was the lack of sleep!!! Everything else you adjust to gradually. I persoanlly didn't find it to be a 'shock' or anything.

Definately the sleep, but you eventually get used to it.

Also (though this was not anything changing between me and ex-hubby), you take for granted just 'running out' to the store to pick something up. It's now kind of a job....Is the baby napping? Does the baby need to eat? Pcking the baby up, etc.

I don't mean to make it sound like a bad thing though...it's the greatest thing you will ever experience...EVER!

I agree with the sleep thing.. I had a lot of complications, so it took me longer to re-coop!!! And yes, the running out, you definately are not as 'free to go: as you were before baby... BUT It wasnt anything too dramatically life changing! Feel free to FM me some of those more 'complicated' questions, I may be able to help!

I think the biggest change between DH & I is that we rarely have alone time. But it's so alright, we love being with the baby. If both of you are ready, it won't bother you. And then you take advantage of the times that people will offer to baby sit to get a night out together.

I think with every 'phase' of life, comes changes, and if we're truly 'ready' to enter that phase, those changes arent so bad

Ten years ago, not going to clubs 3x a week, would have been the worse thing imaginable. NOW, its the furthest thing from my mind

Like Liz said, although there is much less 'alone time' we do take babysitting opportunities and have our little dates and fun times as a couple. and we also very much enjoy just watching our little guy walk, babble, giggle and discover the world every day, bit by bit... Once you have children, THEY are the focus of your lives.

I am going to be a Mom soon and I already know that I will have no more lazy, sleeping late mornings (or rare occasional ones) and that DH and I will not be going out to eat or movies whenever we feel like it. I am also sure that our 'private' time will have to be scheduled around the baby's schedule. We are okay with that. But I think when you are not ready, those changes seem overwhelming and very difficult to adjust to.

There are give and takes with every phase of life. You just need to know if in your heart those give/takes are okay with you.

My biggest issue has been the not wanting FH to hang all over me like he used to. We used to be gropy and lovey but now I am like get away from me. I have someone ALWAYS on me. Drinking from me. Playing with me. i need alone time. Poor FH.

not being to able to just run out to the store
..or on impulse to ge something to eat..
.or going somewhere to eat where it takes longer than an 8 month old will wait!..
..or sometimes not being able to LEAVE THE ROOM to go downstairs to do laundry, to go clean another room, to GO TO THE BATHROOM!!!

yikes- not a pretty picture, huh? Well that's reality sometimes...

but also could not imagine how a smile or a gigle from such a little person can make the world stand still!

but I do miss sleeping a bit later!...or being able to watch a movie OF MY choice at home...(forget about gong out for a movie!) ...hmm sounds like I need a date night!
