? For my Summer Wedding Girls...

How does your fam/friends react to the date you picked?

I've already had people say it's going to be too hot, but I really don't have much of a choice (I'll be working in a school and would like to go on HM right after so this limits my choices)

I also am leaning towards a Sunday afternoon although I'm scared I would have picked the day where it's going to be record breaking temps

What do you guys think???

I want to pass on the Fridays completely b/c people moan and groan since they have work that day and are normally too tired to do anything after (let alone get dressed up for a wedding)

Sat's are just too expensive (not even worth it to me) Although i would consider a Sat afternoon for the right price, but I doubt theres much of a discount if any...

Sunday nights people would complain about having work the next day so I figured Sun afternoon wouldnt be as bad... Those who wanna get home, get home in plenty of time and those that want to continue the partying can do so...

Sorry this is a book... I just have lots of thoughts flowing.... And would like opinions Thanks for listening to me rant girls!!!

Everyone who i care about (close family and friends) did not care what we chose as long as we are happy! and we are! so anyone who complains that it is too hot or they're tired can go home LOL!! it's my wedding and i LOVE the summer and im a teacher and i always wanted the summer anyway (even if i wasn't a teacher)

I already had a bridesmaid ask me why they are wearing black (im having black flowey chiffon tea length dresses) I told her because i love the color black and i think it will look very nice and classy.
It's you and your FH's day. Everyone will have a great time!! dont worry ..do what you is right for you and your FH!

I always said I'd never care what others thought either!!! I just really dont want extra unnecessary headaches... I get migraines without any wedding planning involved

I love the summer too, but I think I like afternoon better b/c I actually want people to dress more casually... I plan on tellin everyone to leave their suits/gowns at home & just come out and enjoy the party No reason to be all stuffy on a hot a$$ summer day

I can only imagine how your girls reacted to wearing black!! You must have too a lot of heat for that!!! You are 1 brave girl!

My mom nearly pitched a fit!! She didn't want november let alone the weekend my nephew passed. but thats our dating anniversary weekend and I feel thats what my nephew would have wanted so I will just have a candle for him to remember .

I hear ya on the anniversary thing... I'm tryin to stick with the # 2 since our ann was 2/2/01 ... If I chose 8/2/09, me and FH would be celebrating 8 1/2 yrs together and its also his niece's bday.... Not sure hwo she would feel, but I would plan on having a lil bday cake for her at the RH (she would be 11 & also my Jr BM)

Actuallly they were all excited b/c everyone looks good in black lol..it was just my one friend who questioned it (meanwhile she's getting married this August OUTSIDE)!

A casual afternoon wedding sounds great! It's a very good idea. My wedding will be mostly indoors (Air conditioned Church, cocktail hour and of course reception) the only thing is when we take pictures but everyone will handle it!!
I feel bad for the guys who have to wear suits!!

Yeah see I want to avoid the whole whining about wearing a suit in 80 degrees... I get annoyed very easily and all I need to someone to say something to me about it and I think I would prob just snap... Bridezilla in full effect

So why not eliminate the suits?!?!? Hahaha I think people would be happy... I also like doing things just a tad differently It becomes more memorable that way

Let me tell you one thing, your pics (if you take them at a garden) will come out beautiful!!!!!!

I am thinking about having the ceremony and reception at the swan club and their gardens are absolutely gorgeous so I def am right there with ya on the aug gardens

We wanted to get married on our anniversary ... It happens to be a friday night. So far no complaints! But I would prob have to aske my wedding party to take the day off for photos and such! It shoud lbe far enoug hin advance so....we will have to see!

I would have loved to get married on our anniversary too, but a Feb monday wedding doesnt seem too appealing Hahaha

So whats the next best thing? Our half anniversary!?!? LOL If the date stays as is, we'll be getting hitched after 8 1/2 yrs exactly

As far as the hot weather and cost....have you considered planning your wedding around a school holiday? We are going to go on our HM during Spring Break. and since its an off peak time of the year we are able to have a Sat. night. Just a suggestion.

Not a summer bride, but too bad for anyone who doesnt like your choice of wedding date! lol Its your day and dont let anyone's comments ruin it. Since FH and I chose March, when we can possibly get snow, I had people making comments about it and it started making me rethink the date altogether until FH sat me down and said who cares what the weather is like, the important thing is that we're getting married! How cute is he??

That is really adorable!!!! It def is the most important thing ... Its easy to get all wrapped up in the weedding itself and forget that the most imp part - the ceremony - is the shortest and is thought about the least!

Funny you talk about someone always complaining b/c I had mentioned to my mom a RH and of course her friend at work saw my mom was lookin at it on the comp and says 'oh i've been there, the food wasnt good' It's like and you're butting in because?!?!?

Oh I thought about the whole doing it when theres a week off... but then I think I want to be free from work a lil before the wedding (to get last min things planned) and after the HM (so i dont go into post-vacation depression 'i hate work' kinda mode) So I figured best time to have all that would be in the summer

I analyze situations from every angle... too much time on my hands maybe??!?!

Yes, we would love to make everyone happy but we can't. Not too sound harsh, you are paying for the wedding and have to do with what's comfortable for your pockets. You shouldn't have to worry about ppl showing up. Your family and close friends will come no matter what day you pick.

Very true!!! I would ultimately prefer a destination wedding, but some of those very close to me just cannot step foot on a plane ... It would be more of a burden for them and I dont want to put them through that!!!
