For NeesiePie... a brief history of my world

Original post by MonkeyLuv

The Stealth Slider is a tiresome, annoying, psuedo-intellectual urban-hipster trapped in the weasely body of a wannabe-british suburbanite.

We used to chat briefly about music, and then movies, and then books, and then politics. It was harmless, infrequent and nice.

He started burning CDs for me (4 or 5 a month), and leaving books on my desk and photocopies of cultural events for NYC. It became constant and ANNOYING! He would slide over in his desk chair(hence the name Slider) during lunch and not say anything. He would wait for me to notice him and then mumble at me for 5 minutes!

I began to feel very uncomfortable around him, to the point where I would pretend I had to work during lunch or bolt to the bathroom if I thought I heard him coming.

So I politely brush him off for a few weeks.

So he sends me a 3-page email about how he enjoys my company, considers me his intellectual equal and no, he does not want to sleep with me (which he repeated 3 times....ew).

I freeze him out like it's my part-time job. Except he's still leaving crap on my desk i.e. : event listings, CDs, post it notes the size of postage stamps with 4 paragraphs of his rambling on them.

After a month he comes to my desk and asks what's wrong. I told him. He sort of leaves me alone, except, you know, NOT. And now hes got a chip on his shoulder... like I'm forcing him to be polite! What? Dude, IGNORE ME! I BEG YOU!

He gives me a creepy-*** Christmas card (with no note or signature???!!!).

Since coming back from New year's however, there has been NO CONTACT. None. Not even a morning 'hello'.

Until today when he comes over and tries to palm some pompous catalog off on me and I told him I didn't want it. Except it freaked me out that he came over to me so I was all stammering when I said that!

Whew.... that's a whole lotta creepy for one post!

I actually picture him living in an immaculate studio apartment with pics of Munkey wallpapered all over the walls of his utility closet....where he goes and huddles for his 'special time' and carves her name into the sheetrock........

but also...
because that squicked me!!!

What are his dealings with others in the dept? Is he well liked and the side you see is his dark side? Does everyone find him odd? I hate when creepy people think they are my soul mate. Eeew.

And the Stealth thing is hilarious because there was a creepy guy here who used to tiptoe into cubes and then start talking, without knocking on the cube wall. Freaked me out!!!

Ah... now I know the whole story!!

I knew someone who was creepy like this! Sounds like his New Year's resolution was to stop stalking you and he already fell off the wagon

Unfortuantely, the creep I knew only moved on after he found someone new to torment!

Everyone else really likes him... which makes me think that there's something wrong with me!

If it had just been chatting, that would have been fine, but it was the constant articles, CDs, books, notes he left ... and the inappropriate/needy email! I can hear him with other people and there's a difference, he's more casual, and less intense with them.

I think it was the 'intellectual equal' that really got me. I don't care if my co-workers are more or less intelligent...I just work here! I'm not looking to join the debate team! And he focused all of his inner workings, stream-of-concious thoughts and nattering beliefs on me.

it was like he thought to himself 'Ah, a kindred spirit in intelligence! Someone to whom I can let my crazy out!'

No thank you, keep your crazy to yourself!!!

You know, I'm really surprised at how many people were actually following my Slider Posts!

I don't get to post much during the day anymore...too busy at work, but when I get a chance to read, I always look for a slider story....you have such a way with words, bravo
