Anyone notice Post-wedding other people's relationships change dramatically?
We've had:
two break ups two engagements one couple decide not to speak to each other anymore after trying to be friends for awhile post-break-up
And it's only been a month!
DH and I have a hypothesis that seeing other people be married and in love makes people either say 'wow, we really want that, let's take it to the next step' or 'that's not what I want with you, we need to break up.'

Re: For the married ladies...
I'm not so sure it's about going to a wedding...I think those things have been brewing for a while and just erupted all at once. Except for the couples that broke up-maybe it was about 'the ring ' that was never received!! For me, I had a couple of relationships that I had with people that changed after the wedding...for example, I have not spoken to one friend of mine who no-gifted in a long time. I let it go for the most part and have called her, only to not hear back from her. I was more upset that she didn't even get me a card....oh well. There's also this one couple who are DH's friends who didn't go to our wedding and everytime he spoke to them afterwards they had a different excuse about why they didn't go. It's obvious they were lying -it would have been better to not say anything at all. Since then they invited us to a couple of parties and we have declined because we just were turned off...sad how weddings bring out the worst in some people during such a happy occcasion....

So far my relationships with other people are about the same, but I can see us drifting a part in the future with some people. Especially some people we invited who didn't even bother to RSVP. Such is life I guess.
