on days that you're home (or if you're a SAHM) what do you do with the little ones all day? Cassidy is 4 months now, but still doesn't 'do' much, and I find that when we're home, I run out of things to do with her. We play with rattles and colorful toys, sing, she plays with her gym, she's still alittle too wobbly for her Excersaucer, we'll go for walks ooutside if it's a nice day, and she is mesmerized by Barney and a couple of shows, but I dont want to stick her in front of the TV all day.
What do you guys do?

Re: ?? for the mommies...
we read to Sofia ALOT!!! and I tell you..it really does wonders...she counts to 20 and knows her ABC's...and not just by singing them either...she can look at a letter and say which one it is...the same with numbers
we also play together alot...she LOVES to build towers with the little blocks..and play 'kick ball'
eta: damn...I just realized the age difference between Cassidy and Sofia....(duh)..sorry i couldn't be of more help!

Re: ?? for the mommies...
For such a young infant, I don't think you have to be concerned with 'doing' anything specific ALL day long. Passive interaction is fine...just keep her near you as you fold laundry or do whatever household things you are doing, and I'm sure she'd be content just watching Mommy!
At that age, you definitely don't want to over-stimulate them, b/c you'll cause other problems like trying to get her to sleep, etc.
As long as she can see you and hear your voice talk or sing to her, I'm sure she's fine with just small periods of 'active' playtime.

I don't think I did much with my daughter at 4 months besides talk to her all the time telling her what I was doing whether it be making breakfast, folding laundry or cleaning the house. I found that she picked up a lot of the words from repetition like teacup, socks and 'DIRTY'. Now at 10 months, we take a class at The Little Gym. She loves it.

Re: ?? for the mommies...
When Kiera was 4 months we took her out a lot during the day. She loves to be in the stores and look around at things. If we were home with her we would put her in her swing, her bouncer, let her watch some tv, read to her, play with different toys. We were very lucky that Kiera has always had a very strong neck so she's been able to do a lot of things for months that some babies can't do until they are 5 or 6 months. So it was easy for me to keep her busy.

I did the same thing. I didn't really 'do' alot of things with my son at that age.

Re: ?? for the mommies...
my son is the same age and i worry sometimes he's 'bored' ! but i think at this age there's only so much they can do....i try to take him for walks every day the weather is nice.....i still can't put him in the exersucer either- so he really plays on his gymini mat, the leapfrog learning gym, and plays with some rattles.....i try putting on the baby einstein videos but i'm not sure if he likes them...i also put him in his swing and bouncy seat....i think until they can hold their head better for the exersaucer, they're doing as much as they can for this age...
