I have read many reviews about how wonderful everyone's wedding day has been but also saw some mention in certain posts that throughout the day there may have been some bumps in the road...or things that you may have done a little differently when you look back on the day. For us brides not married yet what pointers or suggestions would you give about these 'bumps' or 'changes you could have made'...
I know that there will be little things that will go wrong that I won't be able to prevent and in the grand scheme it doesn't matter...but a heads up doesn't hurt, right ?? !!
TIA

The only thing is that i wish i had taken some pics myself, i had my camera but memory card was full and battery was dead lol. I wish i ate more of the food lol, i did eat some but there were so many things i wish i could've tried.

honestly you can have all the pointers in the world. You can hire yourself a DOC or planner but no one can control every single aspect of the day.
There was a bad electrical storm right after cocktail hour, we almost lost power, lights were flickering etc.
It was 10000 degrees the day of, which made me hot and sweaty and just wanted to get it over with.
Try not to get to upset over anything. I got really upset about some guests who pushed the chairs out on the dance floor for us to get up in. When i told my DOC and Maitred that i did not want to do it. When that happened they were no where to be found because they were dealing with the storm. So on my video its like 10 minutes of me really really pissed off. Also i asked for them to do the Hoorah and they just kept going and going and going. I was sweating stil in my heels. I couldnt move anymore. They literally played every single jewish song in the history books. My MIL was like what the hell?
You can be as specific as you want but some people dont listen or they forget.

The day went as smoothly as it possibly could have....I just wish DH and I ate our food. We had a small amount at CH, but missed our salad, pasta and ate a small piece of our main course. We fed each other cake and missed out on the Vienniese stuff.....everyone says that the bride and groom never get to eat and are right!

our day went real smoothly, no problems at all, i guess a 'bump' like others are referring to could be that our limo driver never brought a runner for the church, it was so insignificant that i would maybe consider it a bump

Re: For those already married....
Our day went really well...just a really minor thing I did get upset about (but let go of it quickly...it was my wedding day and I didn't want to spend it being upset over minor stuff!!!!!): the napkin fold was not the one I had chosen. The one they did was fine, but I had chosen one with a certain fold so that the donation scroll could be inserted into it. W/the napkin fold they did, the donation scrolls were simply put around the table and the whole thing didn't look as pretty. I don't know if that sounds silly...being upset about the napkin fold...but it bothered me a little because it wasn't what I wanted. The only other thing that bothered me was that we didn't get to eat much(like most brides and grooms). We never got to even see most of the CH stations. Otherwise we had an awesome day...I wish it was not yet over!!!!
I think the way to prevent the napkin fold error, or any error in how you want anything executed at your wedding, is to be very thorough during your final appt. My BM was not the same one we had started out with but I was so stressed out I did not even think to go over those types of things with her!!!
Good luck to all future brides...have a wonderful day!!!

I was disappointed as a Mom, not to see some of the special things that happened, because nobody told me where and when. Like when Debi and Fred got into their antique car, to go for a ride!!! Mary MOB

You can plan plan plan and things can and will go wrong.
DH's family was involved in a serious accident on the way to the reception, we had problems with our music, i wasnt totally happy with my flowers...Did it annoy me? of course! Did it ruin the day? Not in the least.
DH's family is still recovering, but even they said it was still a beautiful day. I can honestly say that at the end of the day alot of the bumps didnt matter to us. Dont sweat the small stuff, especially when there is nothing you can do about it.

Re: For those already married....
honestly, it was the best day ever. my review is up which explains some of MY bumps.....
my advice.....
no matter WHAT....have the time of your life!
don't care about anything BUT having a good time, being with your hubby, your fam and your friends!
if your bustle breaks or comes undone, do NOT waste the time trying to fix it.....just get out there and dance or you will miss some good songs that you can't play again
EAT! we took our food home so we could eat while we opened our cards and waited for the limo to the airport....i'm sure it tasted better when it was first served....it was still great, but we both got sick around 5am lol
if anyone gives you a problem that day, just remember...they WILL fall on the dance floor, it WILL BE caught on video....and you'll feel better later
if you get too hot, take the stupid slip OFF! your gown prob already weighs 1100lbs....and lets face it, dancing is more important than trying not to sweat! (keep it on for your pics though! you'll regret it if you don't!!)
last but not least, just enjoy yourself!!!!!! it goes by too quick!

LOL thats like me and my shoes...of course they were cute, but my feet were killing me and I kicked them off. Everyone got a kick out of me coming back down the aisle barefoot. Even if they didnt, who cares?!? You cant have fun if youre not comfortable
