For Those Already Married

For Those Already Married

If you could change anything about your wedding day, what would it be?

Re: For Those Already Married

I'm not 'already married' but one of my friends who just got married a few months ago gave me advice that I would have never thought of...she said...work on your posture before your wedding day! She was appalled that in her video at times she was slumped with her shoulders scrunched etc...

I would have freshened up my makeup during the reception/after dinner. I was having such a good time, I forgot all about it!

I really have no regrets- but I would have had one or two more dances with my DH.

Re: For Those Already Married

I have been on these boards for a while so I feel really stupid asking this...BUT...I know FH stands for 'future husband'...but what is DH and FI??? I thought FI was future in-laws, but in some text I read that doesn't make sense.

I can't figure these out. I'm sure when you tell me I am going to feel so dumb!

THANKS!

Dear husband
That is what I think it means anyway.

I use 'FI' as an abbreviation for 'fiance'. I started out on theknot.com, and that's what the girls used there, so it stuck when I started here!

I agree with the posture thing, as well as freshening my make up. But at the time, you're so incredibly happy and having fun dancing, chatting with friends and family that you don't (or at least I didn't) care about those things anymore. All I wanted was to have fun celebrating with my DH, family and friends, and that's exactly what we did

I don't have any major regrets.

I wouldn't have bought the wedding table cameras off ebay. They were refurbished and looked good to the eye but they were damaged inside.
Half of them didn't have a working flash and most pictures came out too dark.

Thank you for all of these things you forget about!

I appreciate you guys explaining the abreviations to me!

Re: For Those Already Married

We had a wonderful day and I really can't complain about anything. If I had to change one thing...I don't think I would have paid so much $$ for my videographer. We were expecting a unique 'film' of our wedding and what we got was so ordinary and we could of gotten it so much cheaper if we used another vendor.

I would of liked better weather, it rained all day and for the reception to be longer. Noone wanted to go home.

More time!!! We also didn't want it to end .... it was so hard to leave! Other than that, things went well.

OH .... when the pics came back .... we realized that we didn't have a picture of both sides of our families together. That was dissapointing, but other than that, no complaints!

The freshening up thing would have been key:D

Pick people from both sides of the family to help you get people together for group pictures. We had a hard time keeping everyone in one place to take pictures.

Also stry to get these pics done early - we didnt take them until later in the evening and refer back to the freshening up tip

Re: For Those Already Married

lets see
1 - not cherishing the walk down the aisle with my dad, I was too busy looking around at everyone and not concentrating on the significance of the moment, I will always regret that
2 - having a receiving line - even though it was just DH and I, it took too long and it was raining and it was just not good
3 - not having a list of tables for the video guy to go around to - he missed MIL's table and she was very hurt
4 - not taking my time picking a photographer and meeting with him first, he was awful and I will always regret that.

Re: For Those Already Married

my make-up...I liked the trial...but I wish I had looked closely in the mirror that morning...I was so excited I just ran out the door...

I wish I had another hair trial

posture...one picture we have...I love ...but I am slouching a bit...but I was pretty conscious of it throughout the day...

one thing I don't regret...having a great time...and being so relaxed...DH was so surprised how relaxed I was...as I am usually very tense and anxious (<- thats the smiley I am usign for tense)
