For those brides that have received their marriage license from the Town of Hempstead...
I'm sure this has been asked a million times before, I just don't want to get stuck with not having the proper paperwork!
Fh and I are planning to get our marriage license in a couple of weeks. We are going to the town of Hempstead. Every site I read says something different for what identification to bring! Is our passports and Drivers License ok for the Town of Hempstead?
TIA!

should be fine. FH and I brought our birth certificates and passports.
From town of Hempstead website:
The marriage section of the Hempstead Town Clerk's office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Applicants should arrive prior to 4:15 p.m. Both applicants must appear in person. Two forms of ID are required (one must be valid photo ID). Marriage license applicants whose previous marriage(s) ended in divorce, annulment or death of spouse, must provide proof of dissolution of all previous marriage(s) by presenting a certified copy of Divorce or Annulment or certified copy of Death Certificate for each previous marriage.

We went to Hempstead town clerk and brought our passports & drivers licenses... i think they only looked at the passports, but I'd bring both to be safe

How far in advance can we get our marriage license? I heard it was 60 days prior at the most. Does anyone know if thats true?

Yes, you must get it within 60 days of the wedding. You can't get it the day before either, as there is a 24 hour waiting period.

Perfect! I think you might need your birth certificate with the raised seal - but call them to be sure...

Yes that is what we brought. License and passport. When you go be sure to buy extra copys. I needed them to mail out to a few companies that I needed to change my name with. It saves you a trip./
