I have so many ideas for my parents but I'm not sure yet...LOL Hope that made sense....
How about a weekend getaway for the 2 of them....
Or a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant.....
Maybe something engraved from Things Remembered....

How about something from where you're going on your honeymoon? Would your parents be OK with that timing?

You could do a custom album for them... like pics of you when you were little and pics leading up to the wedding... there are a lot of great web sites that the albums come out awesome!

I actually went on a pre-wedding honeymoon to Ireland and did bring both of my parents home stuff but not something really nice that would be good enough as a thank you...still stuck!!

I'm probably paying for my dad to fly down to Florida with us eventually and renting a nice house for a week.

my mom & grandma (the other ones paying) maybe a cruise to cabo or something. their gifts might be a little late lol considering i'm broke right now. my mom has been dying to go to cabo. and my dad needs a vacation, he has no one to go with so we must take him. my grandma I haven't figured out yet. she already goes everywhere she wants. maybe she'll come to florida, she can keep my dad company. eh. I figure I gotta do something big for the money they are spending on me.

My parents live in Florida now so as a thank you we are buying them a gift card to Southwest Airlines, so they can either use it to come up here and visit or they can use it to take a vacation.

I will also get them each something a little personal as a thank you gift. I will probably buy my mom a nice piece of jewelry and get my dad a digital picture frame with a whole bunch of pics of us already loaded on it.

I was thinking a gift card to Mohegan Sun or somewhere in Atlantic City might be nice...but how much would I give to compare with how much they are paying for???

For my parents I am contracting a driver for the day (probably through Camelot) to drive my parents to the vineyards out east. I'm also going to give them a gift certificate to a place out there for lunch or dinner. It will come to about $350. HTH!

i definitely want to give them a gift, but i feel like, if i have the money to send them on a trip or buy them something expensive, i should have put that money towards the wedding instead of asking them to shell it out for me you know?

i also dont want to get them something cheap so i have no idea what i'm going to do.

probobly writing both of them a letter, and giving my mom a necklace or something... i have no idea what to do for my dad

I'm giving my parents a trip for 3 nights to Vegas. They have paid for everything and have been a huge support system for us through the whole process. HTH

See, I wouldnt be able to get my parents a trip or anything like that b/c they dont get along very well and even getting them to go to a restaurant together is work....so, the gifts would have to be separate....

I haven't decided yet. I was thinking of sending them off to Lancaster PA. They love that place. They really don't travel much. If they can't get there by car, they aren't going.

I just got a beautiful catalog from Things Remembered and they have some really nice gift options. I'm leaning towards a gift from there too.

All these ideas are great! My FILs and my parents get along great, so I was thinking of maybe sending the 4 of them out east to the vineyards in a limo the weekend after our wedding (while we are on our honeymoon). Either that or a night in Manhattan with tickets to a play and a gift certificate to a nice restaurant!

I am stuck hre. FH's parents are pretty much paying for the entire reception which we didn't know till the other day because they agreed to give us 5 thousand which was genereous but his mom left hima check for 10,000 instead! We asked her about it and he said its the only time her son will be getting married so we both cried and out reception is paid for. Amazing really because we didnt spend much on anything else except our rings, 2,000 for photos and 1,200 dollars for flowers so we really are doing well. I want to give them something but don' t know what.
