A friend and I were discussing this last night. We both applied and were refused. I was wondering if it had anything to do with my experience. I have summer school experience and I taught elementary science as a leave replacement for a semester. I also taught fifth grade one whole year (Catholic school). I don't, however, have a major in Education or certification. My friend was telling me how they want people who have never taught before. Thoughts?

Re: For those familiar with NYC teaching fellowship
All the people in the school that I teach at that are in the fellowship program have never taught before. That can be a factor. Have you considered getting your MA in education??

Thanks for the response. I have thought about getting my MA, but with the factor of the wedding and money issues, I had to put it on hold. I will seriously consider it after the wedding.

Re: For those familiar with NYC teaching fellowship
I was accepted for the program and I had tons of teaching experience. I do not think that has anyhting to do with it. JMO. I did not accept the position, though.
