I'm going to order my invitations the beginning of Dec. I was wondering if those of you who are getting married at the hall are you still getting a seperate reception card, or are you just writing on the invitation Reception will follow?? Is this a bad idea? Should I still order reception cards?

Re: For those getting married at the hall...
I ordered the seperate reception cards, we had a day wedding but wanted it to have a semi-formal feel. I'm not really sure if it was neccesary though.

I got married at the hall, and wrote on the bottom of the invitation, 'Reception to follow'! I don't think it's necessary for an additional card!

We are not putting it on the invitation, I did not think there was a need to put it on a seperate card and I thought it would be nice to save money somewhere

We put 'reception immediately following ceremony' on the bottom of the invite.

Re: For those getting married at the hall...
We did not order seperate reception cards. the way the invite was written implied the reception was following.
'Christine & Don requests the pleasure of your company at ou marraige on Saturday, Sept. 21'

No separate reception card - don't need it!

I ordered the reception cards, I just thought it looked nicer.

I also order the reception card, just because I liked the way it looked as a package, and it wasn't that much more expensive.

I did order them. More elegant in my opinion.

We are not including a seperate reception card. The last line of the invitaion will say - Cocktail Hour and Reception to follow or Cocktail Hour and Reception Immediately following

I am not ordering a separate card. Trying to cut costs.
If I find a really nice invite that is a little pricey I can justify the cost by not having to buy reception cards.
You can go either way.
As Curly says it adds an elegant touch.

As I read somewhere, having a separate reception card is more formal, but not necessary.

I dont think I will have them either. I'll probably add a line on the bottom of the invitation. I'll use the extra $$ towards someting else. Or like someone else said, justify buying more expensive invitations.
