Hey ladies...are you having anything for the guests to shower you with after your ceremony is over? if so what are they tossing? Thank you for voting and any comments!! I have no idea what I want to have my guests 'do' after we are officially married...!!! I know it's not the most difficult decision !!!

Re: For those getting married at your RH! Q and POLL
We didn't have the guests throw anything at us.
If you do want to do this I'd ask at the RH first before you decide on it- some won't let you do the throwing of rice, seeds, petals, etc.
I do wish I had done the bubbles- that would have been fun... didn't really think about it at the time though because we got married at the RH.

i didnt even think about doing anything until i saw this poll - i think bubbles are cute but we are having an outdoor ceremony (pending the weather) and i think that the scenery will be ok enough - id rather save the small amount of money for some other 'different' type of DIY

I voted Other. I made up ribbon wands and tied little bells at the end. When we had our first kiss and everyone started clapping you could hear all the bells ringing, they continued as we walked back up the aisle.
What a great idea!!!!! (Oh no something else to think about!!!)

I just asked this at my RH today and she recommended bubbles or rose petals. Im worried about bubbles staining, but she said the wind tends to lift the bubbles up into the air.
I think I feel safer with rose petals-- just have to figure out how many I need and whether to get them from florist or get freeze dried ones which should end up less expensive
Oh, and sophisticat-- got my blue cake-- the RH was really cool about it in the end
Edited to add, she also said a black and white pic of the couple with the rose petals in color looks amazing.
Sparklycat (luv that name!) - congrats on your blue cake!!!! Yay!!! Thanks for your response :) sophisticat

We didn't do anything - it seemed like just one more thing I'd have to arrange and buy and put together, and by the time we got close enough to the wedding, I just had enough on my plate (and I didn't want to spend anymore money!), so we skipped it.
People just cheered and applauded, which I thought was really perfect, and it was nice to have one less thing to worry about. There wasn't any point where it felt like something was missing, and trust me, at that moment, the last thing you're thinking is 'huh, wish somebody were throwing things at me...' I mean, you literally JUST got married, for goodness sake!
anyway, my point: I wouldn't worry too much about it, the moment will be wonderful no matter what you do!

Thanks so much ladies!!! I never even thought about this- I know it's popular to do something at a church wedding, but I wasn't sure if guests threw things at a ceremony at the RH. I'm glad I will be OK with nothing but I think rose petals sound so romantic!!!

Thank you- great point!!! To be honest I feel the same as you did-it's one more thing and one more expense to worry about . (I do like the rose petal cone idea though...!!!!)

I don't think we are doing anything- to be honest the thought never crossed my mind!

Re: For those getting married at your RH! Q and POLL
we got married at the hall, but the ceremony was inside.
we did not have anything thrown. we thought about rose petals or ribbon wants, but in the end didn't have time to make the cones or wands, so we skipped it.
i don't think anything was missing.

We didn't have anything. Just figured we couldn't since it was inside at the RH.

We did bubbles as we left the RH at the end of the night.
