For those girls getting married in a church I have a question

Who is doing your readings? Is it ok if I ask 2 people that are both in my wedding party? Or should I not do the wedding party? And what about FMIL? Can I ask her?

my brother and DH's uncle/god father did our readings.

we picked people not in the bridal party so that we could include others and so that we didn't have to choose favorites in the bridal party... it was hard enough that some people were upset with our choice for BM and MOH we didn't want to make anyone feel even more left out.

I am having my bro do a reading and he's in the wedding party... My FH's godmother is doing the other reading.

What about godparents?

I wouldn't ask FMIL...

Unfortunately, both mine and FH's godparents aren't alive Okay, I like the idea of including others from outside the wedding party. I just have to brainstorm right now. TY!

We are only doing 1 reading and asked DF's sister's Fiance. They are getting married 3 months before us but we are having a small BP and couldn't include him in it so figured this still included him and treated him as family.

Haven't decided yet who will be doing the readings, but we're definitely asking people that are not in the BP, so that we can incoorporate more people. Problem now is choosing who!!!

So far we have 2 and they are both in the BP. We need to ask 1 more and don't know who it's going to be yet. I don't think it matters if they are in the BP or not

We had our Godmothers do our readings. However I was a BM once and the bride asked me to do the reading as well as one of her sisters who was also a BM. You can choose whoever you'd like.

we had to pick 3 people

2 for ther reading which i picked my cousin and hubby aunt

a nd we had to pick one for the responsorial psalms bc the priest sais he could do it, but perferred for us to pick someone so we picked another one of my cousins

also what our church did with our moms is they asked the mothers to come up and light our Individual candles , for when we do the untiy candle it was pretty neat, they had a fourth candle where we light from my side then his side then the one in the middle

our moms really liked it to

I would ask other people ... its a great way to include other people who are important to you, since you have already included your BP in the wedding.

We asked my Aunt, and the closest thing DH has to a real Uncle. They were very touched and it meant a lot to them to be part of our wedding ceremony.

I have no idea how to go about this! I'm a non-catholic marrying in a catholic church. We're having a ceremony and not a nuptial mass. I am a Christian and would love more info on this....

I am having my 2 Brother in laws that we werent able to have in BP. I also would really love to use friends that we couldnt put in either...to many people lol

we are having 3 readings...1 my aunt, 1 my uncle, and one FH's uncle...none of whom are in the BP....however FH and I both read at our friends wedding in november and we were both in the BP...
