for those going back to work/contenplating it
...how did you work out your new work sked with your boss?
our daycare center does not have an opening until JULY...and I have to go back to work mid march ( unless unpaid) We cannot really afford for me to stay home with out some pay
so...I always knew I had to go back to work but thisd daycare thing threw me for a loop.
I do not want anyone taking care of my daughter in my home when I am not there-unless it is someone that I know and trust...
I work in advertising...which the mnkt has not fullky recovered since BEFORE 9-11 forget about after it.All the press says is that companies are spending a bit more on advertising this year...well- it has def not made it down to the agency level...companies are doing a LOt MORE with fewer employees...and its like you should be THANKFUL u have a job.(nice eh?).
so, I was contemplating approaching my boss with this daycare prob and seeing if I can work a shortened workweek/ or 2-3 days from home...as a trial period until July.
Once july comes I will work 5 days a wk &b want 2 of them from home. ( i could practically do my whole job from home with no ill effects)
In fact, I was sick the wk b4 xmas ansd worked from home that whole week and the first week of jan. Boss was well aware of what I wasable to accomplish ...same goes for the other managers on my team...so maybe that will work as a plus for me.
still struggling with this....any words of advice?
