For those having a full mass...

How many readings do you need to find readers for? The priest told me to pic out verses and passages for the whole ceremony but I'm not sure exactly which ones I need to find readers for. I'd assume its just those 3 big passages, one from each book but I want to be sure.

Also, who did you pick to do your readings? Was it people in the bp or not? TIA

you have to pick 3 for the first reading, second reading and the prayer of the faithful.

we picked all people not in the BP. FH's cousin, my best guy friend and FH's best girl friend.

we also had picked 2 (possibly 3) people to present the gifts instead of our moms b/c they dont want to do it.

We are asking three people --
First Reading, Second Reading, and Prayer of the Faithful. We are also have a few people to present the gifts. WE may have four people for the gifts so I will add two roses to the gift tray so each person has something to carry. All of the people we are asking are not part of the bridal party.

We had 3 readers, the 1st reader the old testimetn, our 2nd reader the new testiment and then our 3rd reader the prayer of the faithful

Thats what I thought. Oh and I didn't know that the moms were the ones who brought up the gifts traditionally. ok, good to know I won't have to worry about that.

I didn't know about the moms either -- I had never seen that before.

We are having two readers....

(it's in the together for life book you may have gotten at pre cana or from your priest) We are not having a bridal party so obviously we are picking readers who would have been in ours. BUT i guess you can do whatever you want to do! My sister picked people close to her not in the bridal party....most people do to give other people close to you a job in the wedding. I was a reader for FH's BM's wedding. it's nice to make other people who are not in the bridal party part of the wedding. Also we are choosing people to bring up the gifts.
