Does 4700$ sound about right for a week long honeymoon with a luxury ocean view room, airfare etc...? Trying to see if I can do better, or if I should just book it!

Yes it really matters what Sandals and what Island. Just in case it was Jamaica my TA says to stay away from Sandals Dunns River......very run down.

Christy, check around a bit more first. If you are going in April, thats way in advance, maybe you can hold out alittle and get a better deal?

Also Antigua was a big dissapointment to us. Alot of people complaining there when we were on our trip, including us.

Re: For those honeymooning at a sandals resort...
just as a side question i am getting married in may when do you think I need to start looking into honeymoon? You think deals come along the closer you get? Doesnt matter much because i have absolutely no time to do it right now considering I still need florist, video and limo before I even think about it but just wanted to know

I only booked mine 3 months ahead and ended up with a sale on the air and on the hotel.

Re: For those honeymooning at a sandals resort...
This was a price I got for Sandals St. Lucia. It is all inclusive. The only reason why I am even thinking of this now is because I am getting married on good friday, so I will away on easter weekend. This is a popular travel time and I several travel agents said I just act soon.

Re: For those honeymooning at a sandals resort...
Hey Christy...
I think we e-mailed about this but here it goes...
I actually paid $100 more than that BUT...
I am staying at the NEW resort...Sandals Grande St. Lucian in an oceanview room (not the base room) AND I am flying first class.
I compared prices and this was the best price I found. The reason I booked so far in advance is that the resort was having a sale before they opened...35% off, and the airline was having a sale as well, so I was able to fly first class. If you researched and think it's a good deal then book it now, it's one less thing to do later. The fact that you are traveling during spring break is a valid point...seats get booked up quickly! Good Luck! Jessica

Kristy, we're going to Sandals in Jamaica for 10 days in October and it's costing us $3,500, staying in a deluxe room, without airfare, which is $340 per person on Air Jamaica right now. I think you can get a better price, especially if you wait for one of their 10% off sales or whatever specials they run.

One more thing...
You have to remember that St. Lucia is one of the most expensive of the Sandals resorts (if not the most expensive), so you have to be careful when comparing prices with other people. I recommend that you go to a few travel agents and compare prices. Also, you can book your trip (leave a deposit) and most travel agents will honor any specials that come up from now until your honeymoon. Just an idea!

They always run specials on sandals resorts is what I was told though. I heard about the grand St lucian and stopped in at a local travel agent, he said it was no biggie that they will run more specials to wait a while, I am waiting a while only for the fact that I have a million other things to do right now, but it doesnt hurt to at least research early, then wait to see if specials come up later right...just my 2 cents

Christie - we are going to sandals st. lucia in 10 days (yeah!) and we are paying $4800 for an oceanfront room for a week (the price includes insurance) so it sounds like a fair price. I've heard only amazing things about sandals st. lucia.
