I bought the magnetic paper that you feed right through the printer but the white side is matte. I wanted to glue a glossy paper over it.
What kind of glue should I use?

Re: For those made their own STD....
Im not much help, but I also bought the matte magnet paper and just printed on it. I really wanted glossy, but FH pointed out in the scheme of things is makes no difference between matte and glossy. People will still put it on their fridge!!

Re: For those made their own STD....
a couple of suggestions, since i'm not sure i'm following you...you would only be printing on the glossy anyways -- right?
1 - you might want to try permanant glue dots -- available in the scrapbooking area of craft stores.
2 - another option (if your magnets are business card size), is instead of using the magnet paper that can be fed through the printer -- get the self-ahesive business card magnets and glossy business cards (both can be found at staples or something like that). Feed the glossy business cards through the printer and then stick them to the magnet. No glue needed. I took this approach and unless I told my guests what I did they never knew the magnet was made of two parts or that I made them myself.
good luck!

Re: For those made their own STD....
I'm not really sure it would be a good idea to put anything ontop of the print to make it glossy. I think regardless of what you use you run the risk running the ink on the printed image. With my magnets I accidentally got a bit of dirt on a few (glue) and I had to throw them out because when I went to wipe it with my damp finger the ink got a bit translucent. So if you do try anything be careful.

try glueing on a cover but if it doesn't work, i'd just go buy the glossy magnetic paper...if you haven't used all the boxes they should be able to return or exchange it, i hope.

Hi! I would not glue anything on the magnet, as the girls said. I have heard of people spraying them with laquer after they are done, to seal it all in and make it glossy, but that is a MESSY project.
I think it might be safest to go with the Matte.

Thanks for the help ladies!
Where do you get
1) Just plain magnetic sheets (I couldn't find just magnet 8 1/2 x 11 sheets) The sticky one was only a small square and would get $$
2) They make glossy magnetic paper to go through the printer? I couldn't find it!
