For those not having a rehearsal dinner

If you are getting married at the site, how in the heck do you practice for the ceremony!! Also what are alternatives to a rehearsal dinner??

I've been in multiple weddings where the couple is getting married at the reception site. In that case, the maitre'd usually has a quick 10-15 minute rehearsal right before the ceremony. It's always worked out great, so don't worry about it!!!!

We had a rehearsal luncheon so our officiant could meet everyone & we wanted to give them their gifts. I felt that it made everyone feel more at ease.
I explained the ceremony order & typed it out really nicely & gave the BP each a copy.
I also served the Groom's cake there & we had everyone write us notes to put in our wedding time capsule that we will open on our 10yr anniversary.

If you are getting married on site you really don't need a rehearsal. The Maitre'ds are great at this type of thing- we are getting married On-site and we'll just wing it.
Just give everyone the order they are going down in... men to the right, women to the left- no biggie.

I would suggest inviting your bridal party to your house or instead of having a sit down dinner at a restaurant....go out for drinks & appetizers.

Since we're getting married the day after July 4, our 'rehearsal dinner' may just be an afternoon BBQ on the 4th of July. We're also getting married at our reception site and was told that the maitre'd will show us everything right before the ceremony. I would rather have it this way so that I can get to bed relatively early since I have to be up very early on the day of the wedding!

We're not getting married out our reception site. But due to how many people we would need to invite to the rehearsal dinner, we're going to have a BBQ. My best friend had one instead of a formal rehearsal dinner and we had a blast!

I was wondering about this, too, since we're getting married at our reception site. If we do a quick rehearsal before the real ceremony with the maitre d', won't FH see me? He refuses to. Do we do it separately then? Or everybody else just without FH?

I'm not having a rehearsal dinner. I'm just going to take my bridesmaids out for dinner during the week before the wedding. FH is going to give his ushers their gifts on the day of the wedding. Guys just don't care about being fussed over!

you really don't need to rehearse...

we had a 'rehearsal' dinner... but it was just to get together...

your BP just need to know their order (this can be right before the ceremony) and you should know the ceremony (we wrote our own...but never got a chance to practice with our 'officiant' and it turned out fine)
