Did you wait for your dress to come in before buying your shoes or did you pick up any ivory shoe. Reason why I am asking is because I am afraid of buying a Ivory shoe that is to dark or tooo light (hmmm maybe to light would be better than dark)

Re: for those of with Ivory gowns
i'm going thru the same problem. i really want to start looking for shoes.. but my dress won't be in until december. and i don't want them not to match, even tho most likely no one will see them anyway.

I know, I just ordered my dress. I was hoping that I can get a shoe this week since there will be a lot of sales going on.

Allison I have a question how long did they tell you the dress will take to be delivere to you? I'm wondering mainly because they told me 5 months and I am ready to cancel the contract and just buy one in Davids bridals or one of those that will not take more than 3 months ....

Going for dyeables myself in the next week or two. Not waiting for my dress with the new time constraints.

I just bought an ivory shoe. Ivory doesdn't vary very much. And no one is going to be able to see your shoes close up to see if they match exaclty anyway, so it doesn't matter at all. Whats most important is that they are comfortable.

Just a word of advice... your shoes can always be a shade darker than your dress but they can't be lighter - that's when the color difference really stands out.

well actually the dress i tried was my perfect size.. and since they had actually got it in that morning and i was the first to try it on, i just bought that exact dress. it was available for me to take home that day but i didn't know where i would put it so i had them hold on to it until my sisters dress came in (she had ordered her dress from the same place 2 weeks before). her dress will be coming in around december 10th.. which was 2 months from when she ordered it.. she had a rush put on it though since her wedding is in february.

Re: for those of with Ivory gowns
i forgot to add that..
i bought it out by my parents.. who live like 2.5 hours away. and the place is another 1.5 hours past them. so to just drive out there to pick it up would be silly.. so that why i'm waiting for my sisters dress and we can go together

I bought the most comfortable pair of white shoes I could find, and I will have them dyed to match my ivory.

Did noone else get a swatch of their dress' material -- I did for the florist to wrap the flowers and show the other vendors. So I used that with shoe purchase.

I'm just going to dye them to match, no problem.

Re: for those of with Ivory gowns
My sisters dress was light ivory and she bought white dyeable shoes that she planned on dying from a swatch, but the white looked perfectly fine with the dress so she didnt even waste the time dyeing them...im gonna do that same thing..no one is seeing my shoes lol

My dress place told me to buy white shoes and have them dyed after my first fitting. I do have a swatch of the material, but they said to wait until my dress comes in so I can get a piece of material from my dress so it is exact. They said it may be a liitle different than the swatch they gave me.

Can you get a swatch of the dress from either the store or manufacturer? That is what I wound up doing.
