For those of you buying / or that have a home

This ques was inspired from the Halloween thread. Kris mentioned that her parents do an insane party at their house each year (Kris I def want to see pic's in Philly!!!). This got me to thinking what parties, traditions, etc I would like FH & I to have once we get our home. FH & I both LOVE entertaining!

I LOVE Halloween so like Kris's parents, I want to have a sick @ss party each year w/ costumes, decorations, etc.

X-mas Eve is officially FMIL's holiday (I don't know that ,did you ) so I won't EVER be allowed to have a party at my house. I would def like to start a X-mas morning breakfast / brunch tradition.

I LOVE baseball & football so I would love to have weekly little parties at my house esp, World Series & Super Bowl.

My brother used to have the coolest party @ his house in Hoboken called the GBE. It was basically the Gemini Birthday Extravaganza, since both my bro & his roommate were Gemini's. My brother passed away a few years ago & I would love to continue the tradition and turn it into a fundraiser for the Brain Tumor Association.

Also FH & I love St. Pat's day so I would really like to have a crazy party each year......

Wow, I hope I have cool neighbors!!!!!

FH can't wait to buy a house so he can throw the yearly 4th of July party. My family dominates all of the other holidays so he wants that one for us.

We have always been the house to host all the parties! We have suprerbowl for the passed 2 years and I am so disappointed that one of FH friends is trying to still it this year. I love love love to cook and hate football... so it gives me the chance to enjoy cooking all day and watch eveyry eat and enjoy!
But this year is the first year in our home and we did new years eve... i would like to keep that one up!

I love your GME party! that is so sweet and I think that is such a great idea to keep it going!!!

currently in our little tiny apartment we host Thanksgiving, Christmas day & Easter for FHs family. (his mom & grandmother & every other year his aunt, uncle & their son)

we host every Sunday football game & we have a super bowl party for our friends.

Marisa...just invite your neighbors, then they won't complain (hopefully!) - and yep, I'm sure I'll have a ton of pics to show off! Seriously, my parents decorate everything, including the bathrooms. Morning of the party, the last-minute touch is changing all lightbulbs in the house to black lights.

I swear to god, this is why my sister and I are so weird. We were raised by freaks.

As for traditions...I just told FH yesterday that I'd like to start having Superbowls at our place once we're married. Since he's Muslim and I'm Christian, religious holidays won't really be a problem with extended family and such. Thanksgiving is the toughie. New Year's....I'd also like to start throwing NYE parties.

Ever since we had our apartment, FH and I started hosting New Year's Eve and Superbowl. Now that we have the house, we also do a lot of BBQ's.

Unfortunately other family members have all the other holidays spoken for so far, but I'm sure one day I'll get one

I'm not a big fan of entertaining but I'd like to have just one big bash once every summer - like a hawaiin party or something

fh and i loveee to entertain, but u will come to a point where its just not worth it anymore. we use to have quite a few parties everyy yr.. and all the money u spend on them, u might as well save it for vacation. we just have 3 oor 4 a yr now. nothing really big. def no bday parties.

ive been cooking for every major holiday for both our families for a few yrs now.

this thankgiving we're going to the bahamas. im kind of over hosting... til we get a bigger house.

I can't wait to buy our house we love having people over! My brother and I used to throw parties all the time- my poor mom! I I just have a feeling that FH single friends will be over a lot SO I want a sound proof basement SO I don't hear them!

I plan on having so many 'get togethers'. My neighbors hopefully won't mind. I'll just invite them :)
