For those of you doing welcome baskets at Wyndham

My mom just called and told me that the Wyndham Wind Watch will charge $5 per welcome basket to deliver to each room and they will not give out at check in desk. That is $150!

I thought they would give them out at check in for free. Oh well. We are just going to bring them to the rehearsal dinner and then FI has volunteered to hand deliver them to whoever did not attend the rehearsal dinner. Yes! FI has volunteered for something!

that is soo not right!! FMIL had her wedding there (whole weekend long mind you) and they gave out to guests at check in!

We had our guests stay there for our Dec. wedding. Here's what happened

We refused to pay to have bags delivered. We negotiated this & put it into our contract. We spoke directly with the sales manager ... can't remember her name right now, but she approved it.

Their point on this issue is that they may have several room blocks for the night/weekend. Most brides give out white bags & its very difficult at the front desk to determine which guest gets which bag.

We bought GOLD bags & put our names on them. Trouble was that there was ANOTHER party with the SAME LAST NAME (Bride's name & my DH's name)!!!

Needless to say .... some guests did not receive their bags, anyway. They do not have the greatest organizational skills at the front desk.

My advice .... Do not pay the extra $$$, but be prepared for problems. We brought some extra bags to brunch the next morning along with extra favors & asked our guests if they'd received or not. So at least they went home with SOMETHING!!!

Good luck!

Aside from the welcome baskets, what is everyone's experience with the Hotel? Is the service good? Are the rooms / suites in good condition?
