I just wanted to let you know that I use MLSLI. When I find a house I like I click on map propety. I zoom in all the way and I look for the name of the block its on or one closest to it. Then I go to mapquest and type in the address under map. When you get there click on aerial view. It will give you an actual satellite view of the area.
I CAN NOT tell you how many times I found a house I LOVED (by using the pics on mlsli) and then on the aerial view I noticed the backyard was back to back with a shopping center, or the expressway etc..
So do that before you waste your time and drive out there
ETA: Also I printed out a pic of the house and used the map I printed out to go drive by some to check out the neighborhood.

Re: For those of you looking for houses online
OOHH, good advice But what about the listings that do not have the address listed, how do you know which house it is?

Re: For those of you looking for houses online
that is great advice - but just a warning - they arent always correct - especially google earth. My house is wrong (if i type in my address it shows the house down the block) on google earth

Another good website to check out is www.zillow.com, it gives what they think the estimate of the house is and what other homes in the area sold for.

Most dont have the address listed. But it will map the area and if you zoom in 99% of the time its the correct block and even the correct part of the block. Then I print out the pic of the house and drive to that block and have always found them easily.

you can also go to THIS SITE and type the address in (just the street name, not the ave. or st. or dr. etc) and it will give you ALL thi infor you need for that house.
Taxes, ariel(sp) map, section block and lot number, it will shoe you compariable house sales in the area, and it will show you an OLD pic of the outside of the house from 2000-2001

Wow - zillow is such a cool website. I've been looking at houses on mlsli and checking them out on mapquest but now I'll also check out that site. Thanks!
