For those of you making your own veil or ordered it online?
1) If you made your own veil how difficult was it. I want a two-tiered cathedral length veil. I'm thinking about adding crystals or something, but I don't know if this would be too difficult. In addition, around how much do you think this would cos?
2) If I decide not to make it myself, what places can I order it from? Ideally, I would like to get the bottom embroidered with my dress design, but if this is too expensive (more than $80-100) I may just go with crystals or rhinestones scattered across it.
Oh, my dress is off-white, so do you think I should get an ivory veil? Can veils be dyed?

lots of questions! the veil bit is daunting and you have so many choices. depends on how off-white your dress is, but i proly would NOT go with ivory, but perhaps diamond white. only way to be sure is to get a sample.
i ordered mine from veilshop.com and LOVE it. great price and it arrived quickly. as far as a custom made one with detail, perhaps sewdeb can help...SewDeb she's made a lot of REAL silk tulle veils for great prices.

A couple of ideas: Michaels has a great selection of veil-type material you can play with at inexpensive prices. The other option I'm hearing a lot of people use is ebay to buy veils and then sew on your own 'bling' as I like to call it. My mother checked out this vendor in either Tricounty flea market or roosevelt flea market (is there such a thing) that supposedly does an amazing job. If you want the info, fm me!

I am having my bestfriends mother make my veil. We're going to buy the fabric and she is going to buy the beads to mimic the beadwork on my dress. She said it won't cost more than $50.
If you can find someone who's good as sewing then you're set. Good luck

i got mine at Barron's at Tri County - it is light ivory (to match my dress) and it is two tiered fingertip length with pearls scattered among one layer. it was $80.

I ordered my cascading cathedral diamond white veil from Barrons. I'm picking it up in two weeks and then I will attach lace appliques (sp?) from my mother's dress. My MILL is going to help me do this.

I am debating what to do about my veil it cost 250 dollars in the stores that I have checked for a two tiered cathedral and finger tip veil so I dont think you will get one for less than 100 dollars

Got a beautiful ivory two tiered cathedral veil with satin ribbon edging that was $300 in the bridal shop for $35 on ebay from an ebay store. If you can get them that cheap I think you're better off. It might cost you more to make it yourself.

I ordered an ivory veil online from glamgal. I'm really happy with it - it's a nice material and matches my dress perfectly.
