For those of you not having your ceremony and reception back to back

We're having a Full Mass plus a Receiving Line, so we will probably be at the church for a good hour and a half. We're going straight to the hall to take photos, and the cocktail hour starts at 6:30.

We are also having a full mass and a receiving line. Then we are going to the Old Westbury Gardens to take pictures with the BP

Our Ceremony is in Brooklyn at 3pm, having a full mass, receiving line, and then heading to the Brooklyn Promonade and other NYC locations for pictures. CH starts at 7:00 p.m....in Long Island (have to take in account TRAFFIC.)

So where will your guest be, is anyone in your family having like a little sit down for those that are not family that don't live in the area?

I could care less - just kidding. Some of them will go back home and then head out, others who don't live in the area will head to the venue early and have some cocktails.

Parents are coming along with us for the pictures.

You can ask your reception site what guests can do if tehy arrive early.

I'm sure my parents will have some people over our house. As it gets closer to the CH, they will come to the hall so we can get our family photos done. Honestly, we haven't thought of this entirely yet, but I think that's what we'll be doing.

We went to take pictures. Our guests either went home or went to the hall earlier. The lounge was open for them with open bar, so my friends got drunk before the CH!
The CH was opened earlier as well.

Mass - 2:30 pm and will prob go until 4 after the receiving line and pics...

CH starts at 7:30 pm.

FH and I are going to the Vanderbilt Museam to take pics and the BP will have their own limo. They will most likely go back to the hotel and relax for an hour. The limo driver will be instructed to get them to the Watermill by 6:30 to take BP pics.

I am not sure what everyone else will do in the meantime. Prob go back to their homes or hotel to change. The hotel will have a shuttle taking everyone to the reception.

We will be taking pictures. The locations are at least an hour apart (if traffic conditions are ideal). Except for OOT guests everyone lives within a 15 mile radius of the ceremony site. I expect most of the guests to be going home & changing (especially since the ceremony card will have a note to leave dress shoes in the car and wear sneakers to the ceremony itself, due to stairs).

We're not having a full mass, and since the ceremony starts at 3pm, we should be done with the pics and all by the church at around 4-4:30pm. We'll then head over to WM to take photos. The cocktail hour begins at 6:30pm, but we're asking all of our family to get there earlier (first of all bc of traffic (Labor Day weekend) and secondly bc we want to take all family photos before the cocktail hour). During the cocktail hour, I just want to relax in the bridal suite and not be bothered...although I know this is impossible since my bridal suite is right next door to the cocktail hour...

Pretty much the same thing....full mass at 1:00 with receiving line....taking pics with BP, telling anyone at the church to go back to my house for food (this way they have something to do) and my CH doesn't start until 6:30. I didn't want to have to worry about rushing around and missing any of my CH.

I have a similar issue with my guests that are not staying in the hotel, but coming for the day.

Although you techinically don't have to do anything, the hotel has offered to host them at the bar area. We will bring in some sandwiches or cheese and they can purchse a drink if they like. Kind of like a hospitality room.

It's only going to be an hour and a half or so, but at least we don't feel like we are dumping OOT's without a place to go. Then they can follow the shuttles to the reception site.

That's a good question! What do you guys think? We are probably going to have the ceremony on a North Shore beach, then take pics b/c FH doesn't want to see me b 4 the ceremony. We origionally said 6PM for the ceremony which would actually start at 6:15, end at 6:45, and CH would start at 7. But since we are probably having the ceremony at the beach, we might move that time back to 5 or 4:30. Our reception is in Patchogue, right off Main St. What do you guys think I should do?

I will be taking pictures

many will have hotel rooms so they can go back there, other than that people are on their own... i am thinking of handing out at church some nearby places to go for coffee, the mall, whatever, but to be honest i am not going to stress about it...

I've been looking into reserving a place for them like a guided tour at a museum or something, although I don't think its gonna work out. So I'm just going to includ ein the invitations a list of palces theymay go to near by in between.
