Re: For those of you that!!!
hmm...when I was younger all my friends with older sisters were OBSESSED with my older brother. It was kinda weird and they weren't even my friends. Then again, I was also pretty young. I don't think I would have a problem with it. If they weren't married of course..lol As long as they were both stable enough not to hurt eachother I wouldn't get involved...

I would warn your friend not to go out with him because she will regret it and you think it will ruin your friendship. If she doesn't listen, you can only watch her make a mistake.

I gotta agree with Sue. You told your friend how you feel about it right? Well if she gets burned now at least you know you tried to protect her. Some girls just need to learn for themselves...

Of course we want to protect our friends and people we care about but sometimes they just won't listen & they learn the hard way.

Re: For those of you that!!!
I think if she respected my friendship with her and she loved me liek she said .. She would not go against me. I don't think its RIGHT nor what happens when its time to get bridal party dresses....
I am not feeling this and I think its WRONG!

Is she looking for a relationship with him or just a fling? You honestly don't think she can handle it?

yea, I would be stessed about it to but in the end, it's still gonna be her decsion and unfortunalty shes gonna have to learn the hard way if this guy really is a creep. All you can do is be supportive and he there for her.

Re: For those of you that!!!
I wouldn't be thrilled with it, especially if it's a fling or something. But sometimes things like this can't be helped. I couldn't imagine someone telling me it's not ok to be in love with my DH.
ETA - you can only be a friend to her and warn her and be there when/if it falls apart.

Re: For those of you that!!!
Well my brother is married.. to a weirdo but she loves him.
When I was younger and girls oohed and ahhed at my older brother I could care less. Told them they had it coming if they dated them and would have the decency not to say I told you so when he dumped them. Now I did have one try to say crap about him after he dumped her. I couldnt stand for that. It got nasty and we weren't friends much after that. Stupid thing was my brother's 'reputation' got better from it and hers got worse. Go figure.
He got married the first time when he was pretty young. Divorced and remarried pretty fast so no problems there.
He was ok with me having a fling with his best friend. It was short lived and I called it off real fast. Too weird. We laugh about it now. Kind of embarassing.

Re: For those of you that!!!
I wouldn't think it was any of my business personally-jmo
Unless I knew one of them was purposefully using/hurting the other I'd think it was fine...I'd try not to get too involved though-it might be weird.
ETA: I wouldn't make a friend 'prove' they love me by doing what I tell them to. If everyone's an adult they have to make their own choices.
We didn't like it when my DH's friend had a fling w/his brother. But, it was none of our business so we kept our mouths shut and when it was over no friendships were ruined.

Re: For those of you that!!!
My mother married her best friends brother (my dad : ) ).
During my first marriage my sister dated my BIL. I told them in the begining they can do what they want but if they break up they have to deal with the consiquences and realize they will still see each other on holidays. They dated for a bit and eventually broke up and were able to handle being together for certain events. As long as their situation doesn't effect me then I didn't feel I have any right to tell them what to do.
