for those of you that dont plan on returning to work

are you just quitting or are you taking you maternity pay and then calling and saying that you are not coming back or are you take you maternity leave coming back and putting in you leave notice? I dont no what to do and if its worth it to even come back and quit, it would mean that I would have to put the baby in daycare for about a month. I only get 6 wks of partial paid leave and fmla but not paid. Im torn. I def not planning on keeping the job I have now no matter what becuase it is sooo far from home and I hate it. what you do think?

Re: for those of you that dont plan on returning to work

REview your maternity leave policy closely and if there are no stipulations that you have to pay any of back if you leave within a certain amount of time, then just call! PEople do that to us all the time so we put something in our policy that you have to pay back 4 weeks (of the 12 weeks full pay) if you leave within 6 months of returning from leave. Good luck and I'm jealous!

Maternity pay? What's that?! What an amazing perk!

Re: for those of you that dont plan on returning to work

I told my company I was taking the full 12 weeks FMLA maternity leave, and gave them a date I would come back on. I didn't get any $$ from my company as my pay was from the state ($170 per week for the 8 weeks [c/s]). When my 8 weeks pay was over, I informed my company I wasn't coming back (I knew I wasn't going back but didn't let them know). Essentially that gave them 4 weeks notice. I think they knew though I wasn't coming back.

Re: for those of you that dont plan on returning to work

Since I teach and my due date is June 2nd, I'll have maternity leave until the end of school. I'll get paid for the rest of the summer and then I'm not going back in September. I've been sucked into this catholic school for too long and I just want to be a SAHM right now. Maybe in a year or so I'll go back as a sub on LI and get my foot in the door there.
