For those of you that workout....

I just started working out again at the gym. I've been going 5 days a week for the last month....
Today when I went to the gym, while I was using the weights the muscle I was working on would shake. I wasn't using any more weight than usual. Is that normal? Why does that happen?

That used to happen to me too. I believe that the muscles shake because they are not used to be used, the weight may be a little too heavy.

By the way good for you for going 5x a week!!!:

Are you doing the same muscles 5X a week? The shaking isn't bad...just showing you that they are tired. After I work out my muscles always shake...especially when I don't take breaks in between sets.

Good for you!! Hitting the gym is the best thing you can do for you body You go girl!

Thanks guys! I can't believe I've been keeping it up
I don't work the same muscles everyday. I was just surprised that after a month of working out they were starting to shake -- it was a little embarrassing!!

if it starts shaking stop and use the next lightest weight to finish your rep.

It could be related to heavy lifting ... i.e. if you are lifting weights that are to heavy. Also, dehydration, or just that your body needs to get use to a new exercise routine.

Muscles slightly tear (not like a torn muscle) as you work out thats why you shouldn't work out the same muscle days back to back, they take time to heal. The shaking is good that means you are working that muscle.
