for those of you who did DIY personlized aisle runners

did you use fabric paint or did you use something else?

i read one post where someone used a sharpie - does this work well? will it run?

i didn't make mine but my friend did, andwe bought the runer at ac moore and sharpie markers and it didn't run, here's a link to my pics of it

You can use fabric or acrylic paint. I am using acrylic paint

Thanks for asking this question!!! I was going to ask the same thing!

This may sound completely nuts, but I'm not so worried about ruining the actual aisle runner, considering I got it w/ a 50% off coupon at AC Moore for about $17. What I'm really worried about is the possibility of the colors running and staining the floor of our ceremony room at the RH! Has this ever happened before? I use sharpies all the time in my classroom, and every so often, the color runs onto the kids' desks, even though it's a permanent marker. I just don't want to ruin the RH floor!!!!! Am I paranoid???

I was told to put wax paper UNDERNEATH your runner when filling in the outlines... It won't run onto anything and stain it and the colors won't blend into each other either.

thats when using the Sharpee markers...

i was originally planning to sharpie the entire thing but that runner material ***** up sharpie ink. it wouldve taken me one marker per letter! (exaggeration..haha!)
