For those of you who have already booked a photographer

For those of you who have already booked a photographer

What types of questions do you ask during your consultation?

I have appts with Duet and 12th Night next week and besides looking at the different styles of the photographers (which I've seen quite a bit of thanks to you ladies!) I'm not really sure what I should expect.

Any suggestions or things I should get clarity on before making a deicision?

Thanks!

Ask if you can get a high resolution CD of your pictures! We got that thrown in from Jeffrey Studios and it's really nice to have instead of the lower quality pics. Also, make sure you know how long they will be there, if you would get charged overtime after a certain time.

Hmm, I wish I could help, but I went to Duet (our first photo appointment), watched one sample video, cried, and booked on the spot! Good luck!

definitely ask if you can get a high resolution cd/dvd of your pictures (ALL of them). those are your negatives and you don't want to have to keep going through your photographer to get prints made up.

this was the non-negotiable thing we wanted, b/c we want to make lots of copies!

12th night gives you 3 high-res DVDs of your proofs, one for you and one for each set of parents. They are even divided by chapter. And their work is incredible!!

i would ask how much it costs to upgrade your albums. sometimes it's cheaper to get a less costly package and choose to upgrade later. for example, we chose to have 40 pics in our album. if we wanted more pics, we can pay a certain amount extra for additional pictures in our album but it works out to be cheaper than to upgrade to an album with 50 pictures right away. does that make sense?
other things you could ask is if they throw in extra pics for your bridesmaids. and of course, when should you expect your proofs and albums to be done.

I had my heart set on 12th Night just based on the reviews I've read here but also read advice that I should shop around to make sure I have no regrets.

I've made a note of the points so far. Thank you!

Anyone else?

find out about your proof count...find out how long they stay at the wedding taking pics....you'd be surprised how many photographers leave before the wedding is even finished! um...and make sure you hustle....NO PRICE is set in stone!
