For those of you who have been to Miami. (A few questions-bachelorette party related)

For those of you who have been to Miami. (A few questions-bachelorette party related)

Okay... so my friend Lena insisted that if we are going to go away for my bachelorette party, we need to get a move on planning it NOW so that I can get prices from a travel agent, and I could give my girls time to save $$$

Since my FH is going ot Vegas , a few of my friends suggested South Beach (Miami ) I have never been there so my questions are as follows:

What are some really GOOD hotels to stay at on the beach (I believe it should be on Collins Ave)

It is actually affordable to go out to dinner in Miami, or will we have to eat Doritos & Combos everynight ??

Besides Nikki beach, does anyone suggest some good hotspots?

Im not a rediculous party animal by any means, but I do want to go and have a good time.. Are there any attractions in Miami besides getting blasted in clubs (besides the beach, of course)

And last... How is the weather at the begining of August?? Im assuming hot & humid.. hopefully no hurricaines =(

I already prices airfare--Im pleasantly suprised! Got to Love Jet Blue.

Okay, enough with the gazillion questions. Thanks.

Very cool. Now I cant wait. I would like to go to Vegas, but my FH's BM lives there, so it figures he would go there and RUIN IT FOR ME Vegas is my favorite place on planet earth, and being that we choose to do our parties on the same weekend, I have to choose another spot... It would be weird running into him in Vegas

I wanted to go to Vegas too, but now I am going nowhere A bunch of my friends are getting married between June & November so it just wasn't affordable for everyone. I am definetly organizing a girls trip for my 30th birthday in 07'!

Hey,

I love South Beach...I go there almost every year...

check out this site, it is great..http://www.southbeach-usa.com/

I love Delano Hotel & Shore Club (they are expensive)..

Mynt is the hottest club, so is Crobar, I also like Prive & Opium Garden.....

for a great restaurant, try BED...

let me know if you need anything.....try to stay no further than 22nd street on Collins...you want to be close to Ocean Drive & Washington Ave....

I love South Beach- it seems to be the only place in FL you don't need a car to get around.

We stayed at the Richmond on Collins Ave. It has a private beach. I would advise you to stay on the beach side of Collins avenue, or you will have to walk very far up to get to the beach, and it will not be a private one. It's not a four star hotel by any means, but it was clean and walking distance to Lincoln Road, and the clubs. Richmond hotel reviews on tripadvisor
It has some negative reviews, but I don't agree with them.

This place gets rave reviews, but its a bit pricey: The tides Hotel tripadvisor reviews

I love Lincoln Road- it has a variety of restaurants, so you'll be able to find something to fit your budget. There are clothing stores, a movie place, pharmacies, etc.

I love South Beach! I used to go every March before I got my job in the schools.

I've stayed at the Beacon, Waldorff, & Shelbourne Beach Resort.

Nicki Beach, Cleavlander, CroBar, Mansion, Space are all hot clubs!

It will be hot, hot, hot & humid in August...but who cares! You will have a blast!

I was there a few years ago, and if I remember correctly almost all of the hotels by the beach are really nice.

You must go to Wet Willy's. They have the best frozen drinks (alcholic of course). They are in huge slurpy machines. They are awesome!

I love Miami, I wish I was having my BP there!!!
The Delano is gorgeous but oh so expensive. Check out their website. The sushi bar there is really really good. And if you don't stay there, go for drinks at the lobby bar one night - guaranteed to spot a celeb!

The Lowes is fabulous - down the block from the Delano - it's huge though! Emeril's resaurant is next door.

I found the cost of stuff in Miami to be pretty much like Manhattan. Honestly it's one place that I never get sick of visting. Never had a bad time there.

Off the beaten path is BartonG - my all time fave restaurant ever...anywhere...pricey but they don't skimp on the food...eclectic menu...everything is delish. www.bartong.com

I'm so jealous!

Get ready for a great time! All of these places are great. Also check out Kellybride's post for more hot spots. If you get a chance try to have dinner at Tantra. So cool, the inside of the restautant's floor is actually grass. Places to stay, The National, Lowes, or the Shore Club (check out the rooftop). These hotels are a bit expensive but it depends on what you are looking for as far as amenities. One thing to consider about hotels on Ocean Drive is that the rooms are very close to street level and it can get very noisy. Also, if you want the option of a pool, the OD hotels usually don't have any. HTH!

If you're looking to save some money and not willing to spend $200 + a night for some of the hotels mentioned, I believe I told you about the Blue Moon. It's close to everything, very clean and in the summer you can probably get a room under $100 a night. The Winterhaven Hotel on 14th and Ocean (a little more quiet in this part of Ocean Dr.) is also another great hotel in the moderate price range. The Pelican Hotel is a funky hotel and also in the same price range.

The Sagamore and the Clinton Hotel are also great choices. I personally wouldn't stay at the Clevelander because I value my sleep too much, and it gets bad reviews on tripadvisor.com. Whatever you do, don't stay at the Best Western. I heard it was a 'ghetto' hotel.

I think Level is still open there, definitely check out Crobar. There's a cool little spot on Washington Ave. by Lincoln Rd, I'll see if I can find the name of the place.

The best pizza is on Washington Ave. by 12th St. The absolute best place hands down for breakfast is on 14th and Ocean. I can't remember the name right now, I'll look it up.

News Cafe is a great place to go to people watch, but getting an outdoor seat can be tricky.

I second the Wet Willie's nomination. If you've ever been to a Fat Tuesday's, then it's almost the same thing.

The Essex hotel is right behind the Clevelender and much cheaper! News Cafe has the best Eggs Bendict for breakfast!!!

Also, Lario's is the place to go for Cuban food!!

Southbeach is fabulous! Sounds like a great idea. My only advice is not to stay at 'The Franklin' hotel, on Collins Ave. To say it's a dump is being nice. I would check any hotel on tripadvisor.com, just to be sure.
