RH in Suffolk County, How long did it take to get your deposit back???

i cancelled floral terrace and they arent even giving me my deposite back $500 WASTED!!!

I didn't cancel but the contract says I would lose my deposit of $1000.00
Check with your contract first before you do anything.

It is actually a state or county law, I forget which, but either way it applies in Suffolk. If you cancel prior to 6 months before the date of the wedding, you are entitled to get ALL of the money you have paid thus far back, save $100.
Most places don't volunteer this information, because who's going to go pouring over the law codes?

I cancelled my original place 1.5 years before the weddings not knowing this law. Then when we found out they said that isn't how they run their business- even though it is a law. SO we lost $500 and we are still fighting with them.

My date was a cancellation/date change. That couple will not get a refund until after my wedding goes thru.

Thanks Girls. I do know about the law. Im hoping that they dont fight with us on this, I would hope they would just want to get the check out and not have to deal with us afterwards.

ok Girls. If your reception is in Suffolk then you get everything back except $100 AS LONG AS YOU CANCEL 6 MONTHS PRIOR! The suffolk law outrides any contract you had with the RH. This is really important because you girls are all be lied too and it drives me nuts! Don't look at your contract until 6 months prior to your wedding because it means NOTHING in Suffolks EYES!
I already did this, fought for 5 long months and got everything back except the $100 they are allowed to keep.
You need to call the BBB and tell them immediatlyl if your RH is telling you different. They will black mark them.
Its sad they wont just give the money back especially since they dont do anythign to deserve $1000 of your money!
I have no problem talking anyone through it if need be. FM if you need info!
