For those of you who have co-ops

If you have pets, was there anything in writing given to you before you signed the contract, stating that pets are allowed? I am very close to signing a contract and I asked the broker, who happens to live in the building, if pets are allowed. I have 2 cats, but he says to say I have one. I'd like something in writing b/c I dont feel comfortable with that. Am I making a big deal out of this?
TIA

We've had our co-op for over 15 years and they only added the pet clause within the last 5 or so.... I don't know the actual wording, but the dog has to be under 40 lbs and you pay a pet fee of $35 every year or 2. I don't think it matters for cats, except you have to pay the extra fee for them.

Thanks for responding.
I started to get nervous about the whole thing when we met with the attorney last night. He could not find anything in the house rules that states whether pets are allowed or not and even though the broker told me it was ok, but to tell the board I only have one cat, the attorney said to call and ask for written documentation. OH boy, the broker, was a little peeved and told me he wouldnt put me in such a position. Nonetheless, I requested it in writing. He called me this morning and told me that its in the house rules which is not given out until the contract is signed and I meet with the board. Well, I pushed for him to send me a current copy b/c the one he sent the attorney was from 1986!
Well, pets are allowed and I think we will be signing the contract very soon
