Do you get your deposit back if you dont have a signed contract?

They should have it written in the contract if you get any money back and how much. What % you will get back.

i switched my photographers and unfortunately we lost our deposit ($500) that we put down, but it was stated in the contract that we would lose it if we cancelled.

but for me, i'd rather lose the $500 (and i'm NOT rich by any means, that $$$ hurt) than lose piece of mind. i'm much happier with the pics that i got from my wedding than i would have been with the other photographer
