For those of you who have visited bakeries..

What is the price range for the cake that you want? and how many people can your cake serve? Just lookiing for some prices.

We just went cake hunting this weekend! I had a pretty good idea of what my cake would cost going in, since I studied pastry in cooking school, so there were no surprises.

For a three tiered square cake, buttercream icing with some kind of white swirl or scroll design and the top tier raised with sugared hydrangeas covering the columns, it will cost $350.

Mine serves 100 people too but b/c the design we are getting is so intricate, it will be $8 per slice. It is 4 tiers.

ours costs about $10/slice. (70 people) But, we're in love with a particular pricy bakery in port jeff, and we know it will be really tasty!

It's out of control. Seriously! FMIL is buying it for us. If you go to the Martha Stewart Weddings website, type in 'Sailor Valentine Cake', it is the one on the right with the pink shells. I don't know how to post pics from websites.

The one on the right in this pic??? I can see why its expensive..its absolutely gorgeous!
