For Those of You Who Haven't Gone BM Dress shopping

When are you?? I am getting married next october and i figured I would wait till January to start? Does that sound about right?

I'm starting Friday because I'm on vacation and my sister is home on winter break. If we don't find anything Friday, we'll head back out the following week and continue in January until she has to go back.

We won't order until April though.

I think that should be fine for you. My dresses are Alvina Valenta and they are supposed to take about 4 months. Don't forget to add another month or so for alterations too.

I have been looking online but it doesn't help much. My sisters and I are going the day after christmas (that is only day my sister is home that we both have free).

I would like to order by March -- I know its early but three of my BMs live out of state so i need time to ship it to them for alterations.

Yeah I figured if I found what I wanted now they can order them on their own come March/April, that should be enough time.

Also.....are you having all the girls go at once (if possible?) I was going to send an email around that my sister (MOH) are going to go on such and such date if anyone wanted to join us...

im getting married on november. i ordered the dresses last saturday. the girls have until jan. 15th to get their measurements to the store. supposedly there is a backup on Bill levkoff, jim hjelm and watters and watters. so 3 different shops all said to order soon.

Thats what I did. We had actually all agreed on a dress. Once I realized I wasn't gonna find anything better, i shopped around for prices. Then told my girls that I was going with my sis for her measurements and all my girls except for one made it that day. The last girl finally went the next week. The store told me they wouldn't send out the order without all 8 of 8 girls being measured. So now we're just waiting

No I am not taking everyone. Me and my sisters are going for the first time. If we don't find anything then I will invite them the next time out. but I am not coordinating schedules -- it is too hard. I will pick a day and who ever is available can come. I will go with each of them to try it on and order but I don't expect everyone to be available at the same time.

Yeah I kind of figured the same thing too. Everyone is so hectic and some have kids and some live further away so it would be too much, I guess I will just do the same and go with them when they decide to go...thanks!

3 of my BMs live out of state so they won't come. I invited one of my other BMs because she works in the city but I don't know if she's going to come. I'll just email all the girls letting them know what we picked and when they'll be ordered.

If this is the case or they're being discontinued then I say order early. Othewise I don't see the point in ordering now. We have so much time and I don't want to pressure my BMs especially with the holidays.

That should be enough time...im getting married at the end of june and the order for their dresses went in the first week of november. They will be here sometime in march which im fine with. Plus we ordered a total of 17 dresses which is a big order and they said no problem. 4 months definitely.

I am getting married 10/25/08.... and I am going the week after xmas :-x

but I heard david's bridal is super fast at getting the dresses in!!

I ordered my Belsoie dresses from RK Bridal in Oct. and they will be in Feb 15th.... Great prices there too!

I'm a week after u and I am going in january...ALTHOUGH...instead of taking ALL my bm's... I just took one and narrowed it down to 2 dresses we like...then in january I'll get all the girls together and they'll try on the 2 dresses and we'll decide.

I got my dress at davids bridal and my girls are getting theirs there as well..
i was thinking about going in march.... it only take about a month to come in so I figured that would be a good time...
