We have lived together for 2 years and have had holidays and houswarmings where we have gotten all kinds of household items. We completely remodeled our house and bought all new linens, towels, bath accessories etc. I have a more than well stocked kitchen with new appliances.... I just dont know how I'll make it a good registry. People always tell you to register for a lot of stuff but I dont want it to go to waste!! I'll prob reg for fine china, silverware and stem ware.... but beyond that....
What are YOU girls going to register for?

Re: For those of you who live with FH
Well, when we moved in, I bought a cheaper version of everything I wanted, because I knew when I registered I would put better things on there.
So, I went with everything black and stainless steel on my registry..... and I'll have a sweet garage sale when we move to a house and sell all my old stuff!

you are just FULL of answers... that is a great idea! Although I do have stuff that is good quality, it seems wasteful to just get rid of it!!

i have no idea what we are going to register for - we've been living together for over 2 yrs so we have everything that we need - we'll be moving into a house hopefully a year after the wedding so we still want to get all new things for our house but it will be really hard to store in our small apartment!! im trying to think of different things to register for......sheets and towels for the guest bedroom/bathroom, stuff for our backyard when we move? i have no idea!! i want to get things that we can keep in boxes and be excited about when we move lol......

Re: For those of you who live with FH
It's funny, I JUST told FH that most of the stuff from the registry will sit in its box until we move!!!
I don't want to open all my new stuff in my old apartment!!! Plus, my kitchen is white, and I did black and stainless steel!

you can also register for funky things for the house - candlesticks, vases, maybe even paintings???

Yeah...this was hard for us too. We bought our house in 2003 so...we pretty much have everything we need. We registered for some cool stuff that we wouldn't necessarily buy for ourselves. I also registered for new linens and towels and stuff...
We registered at BBB and Fortunoff...

Why don't you do a honeymoon registry? They also have registries at places like Lowes and Home Depot.

Re: For those of you who live with FH
Fh and I have lived together for almost 3yrs and I had an apt before that. We have mostly everything we need except for a nice china set and cutlery. We did register at Fortunoff but I will be doing some major editing. He had fun with the gun and I didnt want to keep saying 'What are we going to do with that' so I will go back and edit. We do need furniture though . Is there a store for that??? I did get some good advice though to register somewhere that you can get the ful price even if they used a coupon.

We are doing a HM registry and hope that most people use that. We have been living together for years and have alot of kitchen stuff. I also want to do a smaller registry with some items. We'll probably get some towels, another comforter, butcher block, and a few new appliances. Also, maybe some vases and picture frames. You can also add your toasting flutes to the registry.

Re: For those of you who live with FH
FH and I have lived together for two years so we were in the same boat. Consider 'upgrading' stuff you may have (sheets that are a higher thread count) or put on things that you typically wouldnt get for yourself. Vacuums, ipod speakers, digital camera, wii (yea, we did.) etc.
You dont need a ton of stuff as people will definitely buy things you dont register for.

Re: For those of you who live with FH
we registered for everything, formal china, pots, pans, everyday dishes, silverware, glasses, things that are neutral i would say
we didnt register for things like bed sets, sheets, linens, bathroom sets because our home is being built right now, and we are interviewing interior designers right now to see how we are going to decorate and what colors and paint to use. and also what style we are going with in our home, traditional, modern, post modern etc.
