I don't have the same situation, but my mom is divorced, and she is dating someone new. I am having her come in with him.

I guess it would depend on how you feel. IF you aren't ready to see that sort of thing yet, just ask your dad to walk in alone no? That is what I would do.

Well My parents are divorced, and my biological father has a GF so I had them walk in together. The Dj Annouced it: Anthony escorted by carianne.

you can do it however you are comfortable- dh's father has passed away & he didnt want his mom escorted in by her boyfriend- so she came in alone- she was fine with it- talk to your dad and see if you guys can work it out

I am sorry you lost your Mom. I lost my Dad a couple of years ago. Makes it tough for some of this stuff I know. And what my advice would be is do what is comfortable for you. It is your once in a lifetime day and if done with good intentions, everyone should understand your wishes. People are going to give you all sorts of advice on what you 'should' do but go with your gut. For me, people had all sorts of opinions on how I should walk down the aisle or that I should dance with my Mom since my Dad will not be there and that just doesn't feel right to me so I'm changing things to do what I want to do. I don't think you need to have the girlfriend included in the entrance if you don't want ...just be kind in the way you let everyone know your wishes and people should understand. Good luck.

I lost my mom 4 years ago. my sincere condolences!! I know how you feel.

Anyway.. you can say.. 'the brides father (name) escorted by (women's name) there doesn't need to be a title with her name.

good luck.

My DH and I had a similar situatiom. My mom is divorced but just began seeing someone, I had my grandfather walk her in, I dont know the guy that well. As for DH he has a step mom (married to his dad) so they walked in together.
I think it should be a matter of how confortable you are witht he situation. He'll have to undertand.

My father died. I had my mom walk me down. Then at the reception she was introduced as:

Maureen the mother of the bride and her escort Tommy

ETA: Tommy is her Boyfriend. Boyfriend is silly to say since they are 54 and 49 but her new man in her life.

I already asked him to walk in alone, and thought it was all settled, but then his girlfriend called him, and she feels slighted, and hurt....so now I need to make a decision...
I may not introduce anyone....UGH! made it through one year of planning to have a bump in the road with 9 days to go.....

No matter what, your wedding is going to be perfect and beautiful...this little bump will sort itself out. I don't have an opinion so I can't help you....just wanted to give some support.

I mean, for the sake of no stress, just let them walk in together. I mean, she will never be your mother, but I suppose you would want to be happy for him no? I mean, if this is someone he loves very much, why not just let them walk in together?

Do you hate her ? lol Has she done anything to you, or do you just feel this way b/c its another woman?

It's YOUR wedding, do what you want to do obvoiusly, but don't let things like this cause so much stress. In the end, it's just one person walking into a room that no one will remember b/c it's all going to be about you anyway :)

oh cr@p.... does this mean i have to have my dad walk in with his wife? i really cant stand that woman. But, as deep as my hatred is for her, i dont think I could put my dad out like that or hurt his feelings or make him walk in alone when he really wants to include her (and when we wouldnt be having a wedding if it werent for him) I already got her name off the invite, i guess i can let him have this one. Its not that big a deal to me, as long as she is just introduced as his wife or preferably just by name, but if they call her my step mother i will flip.

i totally see how it might make you feel uncomfortable though and i hope you are able to do whats best for you while keeping your dads feelings in mind - as for the girlfriend feeling slighted, eff her its not her wedding (i dont know what kind of relationship you have with her, but thats my opinion based on how i feel towards mine) unless your dad feels the same way and his feelings are hurt or would like her to be included, he should be able to explain to her that this is how you feel and its important to you.

Thank you for your help...it's not about hating her, and I am not being she is just so immature, it is ridiculous. She is a very nice woman, and I could not be happier for my father. Even my father thinks she is being a 5 year old.

Point is, this was all decided, and then she calls him and tells him she is mad. She has like 6 kids, and has walked into to 6+ different weddings. why can't I do mine (one time in my life) the way i feel comfortable? You know?

P.S. Her daughter just got married, and my father did not escort her into the reception.

Well that, my dear, is a whole different story
lol
If your dad is even saying 'she is being immature about it' then I would tell him to relay the message that you don't care what she thinks hah, and this is the way it is.

AND, she didn't have him walk with her in the other weddings, so why is it all of a sudden a big deal?

Forget what I said earlier lol stick to your guns! Tell her no!

LOL...I never post the full story, and now it sounds like I am a drama queen...far from it, I swear! Thanks for taking the time to help me out..means a lot! In the end, she will get her way, because I really don't want to even talk to my dad about it...it is just easier to give in.

Can you say pushover?? Ha ha ha

Well, like I said before, no one is really even going to remember her, they will all be waiting and focused on you anyway. So you get 1 point for that haha

Both of us lost our mother.
We will have his father walk in with his girlfriend, only because she has been around for a few years and she feels like part of the family. If she hadn't been we would have excluded her. So, it depends on your feelings toward this woman. Unfortunately, my dad remarried, to someone I'm not that fond of. If they weren't married, I would have excluded her.
