My shower was on my Dad's birthday, and we had plans for a while to just to dinner. Last minute my sister had to go somewhere so it changed to lunch - we were going to meet my father at the country club after he played golf. I got there and 'surprise!' It was all a scam. And I didnt suspect because it was over 2 months before the wedding!

I know for a few that I have gone to..they were told they were going to other parties..ones the really expected it to be, christenings or either someone elses shower.
I told my mom, MOH and FI that I want to know. Or at least give me a time frame to make sure I have a nice outfit to wear!!!

My Mother got me good!
1st they had a fake baby shower invite sent to my house for my mother so I knew when she left that morning she was going to a shower. She calls me from the shower to tell me that she got her period and I had to bring her a change of clothes and that she was going to wait in the bathroom until I got there. So I threw on a sweatshirt ( I had on sweats and sneakers also!) and when I got there my mothers friend met me outside and brought me upstairs to the private room (which she said is where my mother was waiting)
Surprised the crap out of me

Re: For those of you w/suprise showers:
my parent's told me they were throwing my sister a surprise party for her graduation and asked me to come decorate for it. i actually went out with my mom to buy the decorations for the graduation party (which they later returned). my husband told me they weren't telling him anything, but he knew all along, and my dad took him early in the morning to go pick something up. then my sister called me and asked me to go shopping that day to throw me off, so i had to try to throw her off. my mom pretended to be working that morning and showed up at the house in jeans and a regular shirt...which really tripped me up because i KNEW she would not go to my shower in jearns (she had another outfit there that she changed into after i got there!) and they had it at a firehouse, which is where one of my sister's friends husbands volunteers.
they wokred so hard to trick me - and they really did!!!
