for those paying for your own weddings, or at least a big part of it...

what are you giving your parents with regard to photo, video and other gifts?

(we gave our mom's diamond pendants and a DVD copy of our digital photos and a copy of our video)

For Christmas we're going to get both our parents a new desktop or laptop.

We got them an engraved album that has our name and date on it. We didn't get parents albums because they said they didn't want them. We also got them 8x10 frames from Lenox where we are going to put our engagement picture in (they haven't seen it yet)

We are giving our parents a framed e-pic of us at the rehearsal dinner. They are also getting parent's albums and a DVD copy of our wedding video.
I am giving my mom a fan as a gift... it sounds like a dumb gift but it is a fan that she wanted for a loooong time... this is it

Haven't thought about gifts yet... But as far as parent albums... my parents came with us to photographers bc my dad used to be in that bussiness... anyway when the guy mentioned parent albums my mom and dad both interuppted and said that they wanted to pay for thier own album bc it wasn't fair to have us pay for that too since we are paying for much of everything else ourselves.... I kind of agree but of course i protested a little to be nice... they insisted and so we are not paying for any parent albums.. that way they can get whatever they want and cover the costs themselves... Haven't informed the other parents yet but I don't think they will have a problem.... FYI.. due to remarriages we have 3 sets of parents so the cost could reach 1500 extra dollars for the parent albums alone.

We are giving both sets a DVD copy of the wedding video and a parent album.

At the rehearsal dinner....we will give his parents a platter of their family tree and I am still working on what to get my parents.
