For those printing envelopes themselves

Where did you print the return address? I want to print it on the front flap, but I am scared the envelope will bet stuck in the printer.

I'm not ready to do my invites yet but I did just print up 80 envelopes for my friends shower. I printed the return addresses on the back and it was no problem. I just made a mock envelope and measured it so it was even...and none jammed my printer. Just try it out in your printer first.
HTH!!

Mine had the return address on the back already, too... I would suggest that - that's sort of the norm and the least likely to cause you any issues while printing.

Re: For those printing envelopes themselves

I just went thru the torturous process of printing my own envelopes. I just want to say that it is such a pain to get the envelope to line up correctly and print correctly. I laid out all the envelopes in Word using the envelope and label option and it took a while to get it straight AND I had my return address pre-printed - this was only for the outer envelopes. I finally got it going and it took a few hours to print, but I think they came out okay.
The inner envelopes were a real pain. They were lined and so they were too thick to fit through the printer. I wound up getting a calligrapher at the last minute to hand write the names on the inner envelopes.
Net, net if you can spare the $, it is worth it to save the headache and get a calligrapher. If you are really trying to save, I recommend testing a few of the outer and inner envelopes before committing to the whole job. Also, try to print on regular paper cut the same size of the envelope - that will help you to align the printing without wasting envelopes.
good luck!!
