we booked like 5-6 appointments to see places on 1 saturday and we ended up going with the last one we saw that day
this was a few years ago but i think we looked at like 4 total....it was also when the market was good so if u didnt snatch up an apartment fast it was gone. the 4th apartment we saw we loved and took right away!
When we did rent, I think we looked at about 5 or 6 before we decided.
I'm on my third apt right now but I sort of 'fell' into each situation. The first I moved in with someone who was already renting. The second I rented from my sister/BIL who had a newly reno'd apt in their house and now I'm renting from BIL's uncle. We were getting to shop around when I found out his tenants were leaving so we stopped by to see it and there was no question that we wanted it. It's a HUGE 2 bedroom, fully tiled (I hate carpet), washer/dryer/dishwasher, heat & ac. Couldn't ask for more. The only thing we don't get is use of the driveway bc they own like 8 cars so we park on the street but I don't care! I'm spoiled when it comes to apts but the point is there is good stuff out there so don't just settle!
when i started looking for myself, i think i saw about 6 or 7 and didn't like any of them. then when FH & I started looking together we only saw 1 and both loved it. We didnt even have any other apts lined up to see (cause we have a dog and its so hard to find a landlord that allows pets), so we ended up taking the 1st apt a couple of days after we saw it.
when i used to rent, the first place i looked at i got - i was desperate at the time. stayed there for a year. then when i wanted to leave, i looked at a bunch online but only 3 in person. 1 didnt have availability, 1 was a new complex and not sure if it was going to be ready in time, and the other i got and i stayed there for 3+ years.
