For those taking dance lessons

Where do you practice between your lessons? Our apt. living room is tiny!!!

Do most studios allow you to come in and practice a few times a week or is it additional $$$?

Thanks

When we started we used the living room too, but my bldg also has a party room

Can you get to your lesson early, and get a little practice in there? What about parties? Our studio has 'socials' every Friday. Its $8 p/p and they run from 9 - 12 midnight.

We practice at home, are living room is tiny too but we move our coffe table into another room and push everything else back. FH always complains that there isn't enough room but I always say hey if everything is going well at the wedding the dance floor is going to be packed with guests so we should learn how to dance in small spaces and work around and avoid objects in the room. Just pretend your furniture is a guest on the dance floor
I don't know if a studio would let you come in to practice, I think they would probably charge you something but it can't hurt to ask them.

We have a small living room too but move the table and stuff to make more room. I doubt the studio would let you practive for free. I was thinking if it gets warmer we could go to our roof and practice!

It hard to practice in the house but we try our best. You can rent out an hour of studio time if you arrange it with your instructor.

You can also do it in Prospect Park (ive seen couples practicing in there before)

Stef, you mean practicing outside in the park?

I was suggesting to Lenny that perhaps we can use YMCA's aerobix room, when there is no classes there.
