When are you moving in together? Ideally we'd like to a few months prior, but who knows how things will go with buying a house. With our luck we'll have our closing Oct. 1st!

Re: For those that don't live with FH
Right now we are living with my parents and we are strecthing it for as long as possible (as long as I don't kill someone )
If we can last there then Sept we will be moving out into an apt. this gives us time to be settled before the wedding and then we can start house hunting when we get back from the honeymoon!

we got an apartment in November and we've been working on just setting it up and we'll be moving into it after the wedding. Traditional, yes, but that's us and it's gives us something to look foward to after the wedding

Not sure. We have an apt and I have brought some stuff over. But it is in FH's parents house the apt is on the top floor. But it still needs alot of work, painting carpeting
But I could move in in Oct or Nov or right before the wedding in Dec or possibly even after the wedding. FH will be in Iraq and is still not sure hwen he gets home so whenever he does thats when I move in...it stinks not knowing

i can't wait to decorate, that will be fun
the paining im not sure what to do. I am obsessed with walls being completely flat and straight, no cracks, lines or anything. One problem is if somebody does a bad tape job and many who do taping will mess up and you can see the difference. One place were going to look at the walls are perfect. I just have a weird thing about it hahaha.
Fh's big concern are the closets

I can't wait to do all that and shop for furniture! FH thinks I'm nuts but it's our home that we can do whatever we want to! I know what you mean about the tape job. Thankfully FH's friend is a painter so we'll have professional help.

Re: For those that don't live with FH
I would love to live with my FH. he lives and works in Flushing and I live and work in Montvale, NJ which is 3 bridge tolls and 35 minutes away. We bothlike our jobs and at this point mine pays very well and I am not willing to sacrifice all the time I have put in to move to Queens. FH has been with his company 5 years + and has been looking with no luck here. On top of rent/mortgage and all of our wedding demands we wouldn't make it!
it s.u.c.k.s!

I think you are so right! So many people have tried to convince us that we are being too selfish and our marriage will fail because we have yet to live together. i say they are oh so wrong. Once you're married, the deed is done and all things become a compromise.

We will have the apt a few months before the wedding to get it ready, but neither of us will live there until after the wedding.

Re: For those that don't live with FH
FH is moving into my condo in NJ... He'll start bringing stuff the first weekend of May (i'll be in FL for a few days so he'll use my car to transport stuff from the city). I am SOOOOOO excited for us to finally live together and so happy we waited

yeah thats what i was thinking about, some of fh's friends can do this so yeah gonna definitely go that route.
We already have furniture on our fortunoff registry, we did it only bc after the shower when its not bought we will go after and get the 10% off.

Hmmm, maybe FH and I will sleep in separate bedrooms until after the wedding then
I'd like to move in as close to the wedding as possible, but not stress ourselves out. Although we both live at home, we still pay rent. I just see it as one less bill I have to pay on top of a mortgage!

actually a study came out, people who live together before the wedding are more likely to get divorced. I was shocked by this...and please ppl dont get mad at me about this it was a study.

yeah thats a tough one - we both lived at home rent free and actually moved into the apt rent free so we were lucky to have the option of waiting!
