If you have your dress in advance of the wedding, where to you keep it?
FI and I do not live together but I told him I'd probably let him move in once we have a date booked. I know....my grandma will probably NEVER get over me 'shacking up'. LOL LOL
So, I mentioned to FI that I may be able to get the dress I want sooner than expected and he if I would keep it in the apartment. I said yes and he said he'd TRY not to look at it. LOL LOL
I don't want him to see it at all though and now that I know he'd peek, I can't risk keeping it in the apartment. Are there storage places for this type of thing???
If so, where and what are the fees associated with storage.

Is it possible your MOH can keep it for you, or a close friend or relative? I live w/ my FH now & I kept my dress w/ my parents until I brought it to be altered. Davids Bridal wouldn't let me keep it there until I went for my fitting. I do know that some local dry cleaners have storage. I see signs on the door. It can't be too much, but it's weird leaving it in a public place don't you think??

Just don't keep it in plastic- it can make the dress turn yellow. I'd have someone I really trusted hold on to it for me.

I am keeping mine at my grandma's. She has a nice empty room that it will be very safe in.

I will be keeping it in the back of the coat closet. FH doesn't want to see it so I don't have to worry.

If you're ordering it from a salon, they should keep it for you for no charge until your fittings.

I will be getting my dress way in advance and I may keep it in storage at a nearby reputable cleaners... I just don't have the space, i doubt if my FI will peek at it, but hey you never know..... could someone let me know the disadvantages of keeping the dress in the cleaners??? and I also may decide to leave it at my MOH house, not sure yet

I think I'll leave it at the salon or with my bridesmaid who lives in the Bronx. Don't want FI to be tempted to look at it. LOL

Mine will be at my mom's since I will be getting ready there the day of anyway...that is if she agrees not to smoke in the house once my dress arrives
My mom is keeping it at her house but Bridal Reflections is holding it almost until the wedding.

Flowerama will hold it til a few days before the wedding and then its going in the spare bedroom. FH's clothes are in there but I am positive he wont peek.

I'm going to keep mine in the guest/computer room...and make sure he stays out. It's like 'wedding land' in there anyway with all my favors, gifts, accessories...the computer on LIW all the time, he really only comes in there because Im MIA, on LIW all night.

Maybe you could either keep it with your family or friends or at your seamstresses shop. Most places that do alterations will want to keep it so that they can continue to work on the dress or so it stays neat and pressed until right before the wedding.

I'm not bringing dress home until day or two before wedding. We have a guest room I will keep it in. He doesn't want to see and won't peek and even if he does, on the hanger it doesn't look close to the way it looks on, infact I didn't loke it on the hanger at all. Almost didn't try it on. Thank goodness I did.
He's staying at his parents night before anyway so he'd only be home with it briefly.

Before my dress went to the seamstress I kept it at my dad's house. That is where all of my stuff is now so my FI doesnt see it!

My FI says the same thing. LOL LOL I'm on LIW all the time. LOL LOL He's glad though since I got so much info from everyone. He even commented that you ladies area on top of everything when I read him a post about some halls failure to provide covers for butter dishes and using no name cola products. LOL LOL
