For those that made a donation to charity...

How did you word the card you put out on the tables?

Any examples or pictures would be helpful.

I had a sign posted somewhere near our table. I took the wording directly from the American Diabetes Association website...here's a link Diabetes.org

That's our charity too. We already made the donation. I had FH do this but not through that part of the site.

This is what we wrote and placed on vellum scrolls:
We have made a donation, in your honor, to The Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, in lieu of wedding favors. We wanted to make a difference in the lives of others as each of you has made in our lives. We thank you!

Thanks for all of the ideas. FH and I already decided to donate to the American Diabetes Assoc as it runs in his family. We laready donated but I didn't see the option for the card so I basically copied the wording and will print them out myself.

That's what I was suggesting, I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. We donated to ADA and also to amFAR and I didn't want to have to do separate scrolls so I just did my own.

Thanks. My dad has diabetes which affects his eye sight and my DH's dad is a retired veterarian so it was a great choice for us. BTW...the guide dog foundation printed and provided the scrolls. We just sent them the wording.

We're doing this Sat but probably something very simple.


In lieu of a favor, and to honor our ring bearer, we have made a donation in your names to the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation.


It'll be printed on heavy ivory cardstock (4 to an 8x11.5 sheet) and placed on each guests' plate.
