Did you send those out earlier? I know it takes longer for mail to get there and then back. I was thinking about doing this because I have to send invites to Italy, one ot Portugal and one to Bonaire.

Re: For those that sent invites overseas
I am sending invites to Ireland. I think I may send them bit early, like maybe a week or so, but those who are invited already know they are. I sent Save the Dates. So the invitation won't be a big surprise or anything.

Re: For those that sent invites overseas
We had to send a bunch to Ireland and they really didn't get them that much later than anyone else...maybe a few days but nothing extreme.

Yes.. we had invites that we sent to Ecuador, so we sent them out in January. Our wedding was in July.
We sent them out so early because they need visas to come from Ecuador to the US

Oh wow. Thankfully none of my family needs a visa and they all know my date!

I'ts not so much that it takes longer to get there. Mail gets to Europe now in less than a week. however, if they don't know you're getting married, i would at least send a save the date a several months before hand so that they can plan accordingly, book a flight at a cheaper rate, get a hotel, etc.
if they know about the wedding already, i don't see a problem with sending them out with everyone else's. that's what i did because i knew who was comign from Ireland well before i even sent out the invites... it's something they will plan way in advance, usually.
