Are you having them perform your first dance and father/daughter mother/son dances?? The reason I ask is my song is by Billy Joel and most people I don't think would know it unless they heard it was Billy Joel singing it. Does it matter? Do people bring the song on a disc and they play the rest of the night? Please forgive my retardedness tonight I am just full of questions tonight

Re: For those using a band
My band will play everything, but I believe you could bring in a cd for them to play a specific song.

Re: For those using a band
if u gonna let the band play the song, just make sure u hear the vocalist sing it first, becuase they might play great music and everything , but what if he is not suit to sing that specific song..i went to a show for my band and heard them play and i told the vocalist to let me hear him sing the song first...

LOL thanks Ladies. I agree with all of you that they are getting paid a lot of money- my only concern was that certain songs are known just by the way the original artist sang it- so I wasnt sure if that mattered. Thanks for your opinions!!

Re: For those using a band
My FH is considering dancing with his mother to 'Time after Time' by Cyndi Lauper, but we don't have a female singer for our band. I feel it should be sung by a woman since it's supposed to be FMIL's song to her son .... so I may ask the band to play a CD of it. I don't see any problems with it.

well first of all you are using Renegade so you have NOTHING to worry about. One of their guy singers does Billy Joel really well. He played Summer Highland Falls at my cousins wedding (I'm a huge Billy Joel fan - not a popular song) and it was AWESOME.
By the way I LOVE your song its great

Re: For those using a band
I have a Greek band and the lead singer is AMAZING when he sings in Greek, but has a heavy accent when he speaks English, so I wouldn't want him singing any English songs. In fact, he mentioned that the female singer will sing the English songs, or the DJ can play them...I'm going to choose the DJ for our first song.
